  1. My goooood, I’m squealing internally. Ah, mom why didn’t you sleep yet?! I can’t laughing out loud if you didn’t sleep. Damn. Well, that insect snack though… My religion is a bit strict in what animal we could eat, thing like pork and some else were prohibited. Is pork delicious? I’m curious… QAQ now I want to eat, but it’s nearly midnight, what if I gained weight again?! Thx for the chapter.

    • Pork tends to be very bland. In general, I’d rather have bland chicken instead of bland pork any day. You’re not missing much when it comes to fresh pork.

      Bacon and ham on the other hand can be amazingly tasty. (Ham is pork that has been smoked and cured. Bacon is also cured to some extent)

      In general though, I don’t think it’s worth breaking religious taboos over though.

      • Ah, I’m the opposite. Chicken is very bland to me and I prefer pork. Beef is my favorite meat though .

    • I love pork. My favorite “Chinese” foods (they’re too Americanized to be considered authentic Chinese) are pork fried dumplings, pork fried rice, and mushu pork. Pork gyoza is also delicious. Ham and bacon are good too, but it can depend on the quality.

    • Pork, when cooked properly, is delicious. I prefer it to beef. The plain meat has a bit more richness than chicken, although it can be a little bland on its own. I love bacon. If you want to try an acceptable non-pork substitute for bacon, there is some really good turkey and chicken bacon versions.

    • pork is ok but you arent missing anything it isnt that different from other meats not special.

      as for bugs, i can say that you really only taste the seasoning and not the bug itself. although very nutritious ill stick with regular chips thanks

    • pork is actually delicious if cooked properly, I’ve tried so many authentic pork dishes it’s really good , but if you don’t want to break your religion’s taboo don’t do it , also soy braised pork is my favorite

      • Ares might be a Turtle with the hardest shell just like his power shield.. Then he can transform to be huge size that will smash the enemy and cute size to continue to sell meng.. Hahaha😅

        • Small and cute turtle is fine, but I personally would prefer something furry, good match for Ceasar… ah or even better; what has better fighting and protecting ability than a dragon. Cute little dragon selling meng and when need arises big and strong dragon with hard scales and sharp claws to protect his master. (😅 sorry recently I’ve started reading Lazy Merchant, big cats and dragons, can’t stop loving it!). Whatever Ares will be I bet it will be one hell of a cute creature.

  11. Maybe it just me, but I’m not super impressed with the dynamic between the 2 main leads yet. They’ve said maybe a dozen sentences to each other and yet Scott has given him a room near his and is planning their future life together? I was so looking forward to them actually developing a relationship now that they’re in the same space, but, at least on the ML’s side, they seemed to have skipped a few steps jumping straight to adoration.

    Also besides being mildly disapproving of Rocard and generally said to be strong, intelligent, and powerful, Scott just doesn’t seem to have much of a personality. Even if he is the “strong silent type” at least give him some non verbal development. A meloncholic moment with his quantum beast gazing at the stars showing how lonely he is. Or a weird quirk, like he likes candy and hands it out as rewards or his office is covered in plants. Anything to show he’s human and not just a pretty statue for the MC to fall in love with and be rescued by.

    I like the concept of this novel. I love the MC. I like the variety of the people around him and the different dynamics. I don’t like this non-sequitur romantic development.

    I will continue to read in hopes of better development, but Scott I’d definitely not on my list of “Great Males Leads” at the moment.

    • I agree, I really hope there’s some development between them. As for why Scott is like this, I like to think of it as it being because of a high harmonization level, as they talked about how the higher it is, the more anxious the sentinel will be towards the guide, and even he(Scott) doesn’t know why he feels this way, and so he keeps him close both part because of anxiety he doesn’t understand, but also part so he can be closer to him to figure it out. Of course that’s just the excuse I gave him to help me get past the lack of development

    • I would think not, since none of the others he’s been in close contact with show any interest (during the outting on the Zerg infested planet). I think it’s just that Rocard likes to hassle him, and even more so since Scott has taken a ‘really weird’ interest in him. Caesar must on some level sense their compatibility with WZM, but WZM’s powers/beast are still growing/maturing so is just guarding the situation for now.
