His attitude towards his master leans more and more towards him thinking of Qinhshi as some holy being, which absolutely cannot be defiled (even though that’s exactly the thing he wants most). Perhaps Wihuan thinks it’s supposed to be his penance, for being so.. ‘filthy’?

While reading this chapter, I fully realized that the root of Wuhuan’s problems is in the fact that he views everything as either clean or filthy. All things are black and white in this way, and viewing the world with such a perspective is very unhealthy. I know it is the only way Wuhuan has been able to cope with the abuse he experienced in the past, but just because it’s working, doesn’t mean it’s good for him.What Qingshe needs to do is show Wuhuan that nothing is simply “pure,” or “filthy,” especially with regards to sex and desire. Only by learning to view things simply as they are, as opposed to in these shades of black and white, can Wuhuan finally heal.
The way this author handles trauma and mental illness is so realistic and mature, I am so freaking impressed.

I’m so curious of what will happen, I thought initially that Wuhuan would be the one to coax SQS into having a relationship but seems it will be SQS who will need to do it, because Wuhuan is just too traumatized in many ways to see love relationships in a healthy, normal way. He completely believes that he is unworthy of being loved anymore, to the point that he even wants to control SQS into not falling for him.
