Ya know, Chrysanthemumgarden translators actually helped me communicate with a Chinese student who could not speak English well. The characters in the footnotes allowed me to reverse engineer this student’s use of a (Chinese to English) translation tool. The tool had been problematic for us because the meaning of the idioms were lost in translation, and I found the actual meaning in Chrysanthemumgarden. 😅
