Lord of End of WorldCh15 - Team (2)

Gong father and Lin Mao were rarely seen keeping the younger generation company while watching TV, let alone watching cartoons. Although it was to meet Gong Lixin’s wishes in the beginning, once they saw Gong Lixin’s excitement, they couldn’t help but be infected. They felt that the show was fun and the pain in their hearts slowly eased.

The cartoon had a profound plot and was very suitable for adults to watch. Lin Wenbo and Song Haoran had already forgotten their distracting thoughts and immersed themselves in the ancient world and the sword battles. spegQx

Gong Lixin, who was holding his big-mouthed monkey plushie, squinted his eyes in happiness and nestled into Song Haoran’s warm and broad arms. With various characters in the story, he experienced a Jianghu that he had never seen before and he was satisfied with such a novel experience.

Song Haoran sometimes talked to the boy in his arms, sometimes stretching his hand out to rub the boy’s smooth, black hair. He felt that if he was with this youth, only then would he experience the greatest happiness for the rest of his life.

Lin Wenbo sneaked a peek at the two intimate people, then looked at Gong Xiangyi’s face which was black with a gloomy atmosphere around her. His eyes grew dark. Right now, he was somewhat jealous of Song Haoran. He also wanted to be accompanied by someone when he was depressed. There was no need to do anything special, just hug each other and comfort each other. But the person he needed the most didn’t need him. Recently, whenever he saw her, she was always urging him to buy supplies or rushing to leave without saying a word.

Lin Wenbo knew the apocalypse was imminent. There were many things to prepare but she shouldn’t have been so busy to the point she couldn’t stop and take the time to say a few words to her lover. He felt it necessary to have a good talk with Gong Xiangyi. Otherwise, there was a common saying for the two of them – the husband and wife were birds who lived in the forest, but the moment disaster struck, they all flew away and separated. [1] ohpwMd

In Lin Wenbo’s heart, Gong Xiangyi seemed like a person without feelings. On her end, Gong Xiangyi forcefully repressed the emotions in her heart and waited until the anime finally finished playing. She quickly picked up the remote control and switched to the international news station.

The graceful and ethereal ending song came to an abrupt end and was replaced by the noisy background of the news channel. Gong father and the others frowned but they didn’t say anything. After all, they had been waiting for the news about R country.

Gong Xiangyi stared at the TV screen sternly, completely unaware of how badly the others viewed her actions. She wanted her family to live peacefully during the apocalypse. Her heart was in the right place but she was missing out on the opportunity to spend the last few happy days with her family. The meaning of life was not to become the strongest but to cherish what you have. This truth, she wouldn’t figure it out until it was too late.

On the TV screen, the Prime Minister of R country finally appeared and issued a statement under the bright flashes of numerous cameras and microphones. He claimed that the nuclear power plant protection measures in R country were strict and there would be no nuclear leakage accidents caused by the tsunami, and told the neighboring countries not to worry.

Gong Xiangyi sneered, with her voice full of sarcasm, she said, “R country people really are liars. Currently, the nuclear power plant already had an accident. R country secretly stopped the news from being leaked and issued a security statement to the media in order to avoid condemnation from the international community. After all, nuclear pollution is serious. It will not only affect their country and their neighbors but many countries on the other side of the ocean will be affected as well. They can’t bear the consequences. Just watch, 17 employees of the nuclear power plant were killed and this news couldn’t be concealed anymore.”

Gong father, Lin Mao and others heard this, the atmosphere which had lightened up had once again become depressing. When Gong Xiangyi mentioned more tidbits, their moods got heavier. Everyone present, except Gong Xiangyi, eagerly hoped the accident would be over soon; no one liked to see disaster and death. Because they had not experienced the apocalypse, their blood was still warm and they could not be as cold and ruthless as Gong Xiangyi.

Sure enough, after waiting for more than ten minutes, a foreign news media-outlet suddenly began reporting about how R country’s nuclear power plant’s employees were killed. In the news, the body of the dying employees was shot very clearly; swollen, bleeding and skin turned blue and purple. It was obvious at first glance that it was caused by extreme exposure to nuclear radiation.

With this being exposed, the influential media persevered with their investigations, news of several nuclear power plant with leakage accidents broke out. In just half an hour, the Prime Minister of R country received phone calls from countless heads of states and finally realized that things could no longer be concealed. They had to immediately announce the news and file a rescue application with the IAEA. 09Qxk8

As he agreed, he gently pressed his forehead; his face showed his exhaustion. There was also Song family keeping an eye on Gong Yuanhang’s army. If he made a move, he would be impeached and lose control of the army. Buying arms from other sources through the Lin family would evade many risks. However, the cost of supplying a team of nearly 40000 people was not a small amount. Even if they took out all of Lin family’s funds and liquidated their properties, it would still not be enough to meet their needs. At that time, it would be necessary to empty Lin family’s accounts and take a large loan. This was undoubtedly the destruction of Lin family’s foundation by their own hands. When making this promise, even the deceased Lin Laozi would be frustrated.

Lin Wenbo knew what his grandfather’s decision meant for the Lin family. Standing up, he went to sit next to him and reached out to his thin shoulders, giving him silent support and comfort. Y7dkPi

Gong Yuanhang and Song Haoran naturally knew how much the Lin family has just sacrificed, and their hearts were full of gratitude. From now on, Gong family and Lin family were reliant on each other, they would guard each other in the apocalypse and advance together.

Although Gong Lixin couldn’t understand what they were saying, he could feel the gloomy atmosphere in the room. He burrowed into Song Haoran’s arms; his eyes downcast as he kept quiet. Song Haoran noticed his uneasiness and he tightened his hold on the other’s body. He sighed and smiled; his eyes filled with tenderness.

Only Gong Xiangyi was not affected by the downcast atmosphere created by everybody else in the room. Knowing that a big step towards her grand plan was taken, her eyes were filled with ambition and her spirit lifted up. She would have a well-equipped army protecting her at the beginning of the apocalypse, with this she could prevent all the tragedies and live happily.

“Grandfather, don’t be sad. In any case, during the apocalypse, all the money would become worthless scraps. It would be a pity to just throw them away. If you exchange them for the strength of survival, this deal would become very cost-effective.” Everyone snapped out of their thoughts and stared at her. All of them were silent in the face of Gong Xiangyi’s insensitive words that were said as an effort to comfort them. gqM1oj

Lin Mao’s concern was never the money but the centuries-old inheritance of Lin family’s and the efforts his ancestors. He promised to support the Gong family and he valued the friendship between Lin and Gong family more than just doing “business”.

After listening to Gong Xiangyi’s ‘comforting’ words, he began to resent Gong Xiangyi. After living to this age, Lin Mao’s ability to see-through people could be described as first-class. Gong Xiangyi’s tone was too light and her mood was too cold. It seemed that there were still many secrets she was keeping to herself and her ambitions were unknown as well. A woman who was unable to read the atmosphere and adjust accordingly was unsuitable to be Wenbo’s wife.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

‘In the end, it was a good thing the wedding was cancelled. As for whatever happens in the future, it will depend on her and Wenbo,’ thought Lin Mao. Lin Mao’s heart was dark but his face did not show anything. He only gave a faint nod to Gong Xiangyi, his attitude somewhat uncaring.

Gong father and Song Haoran also felt Gong Xiangyi’s consoling was a bit insensitive and made them uncomfortable. Gong father frowned, he needed to talk to his daughter alone later and give her a warning. Lin Wenbo looked at Gong Xiangyi, the darkness in his heart was not shown but he made his displeasure known by tightening his lips into a thin line and frowning. Lin Wenbo stayed silent. 2w64MC

“Hey, Dad, Grandpa Lin, are you not hungry? Dinner is ready, you can eat any time now.” Gong Lixin endured this whole time but he could no longer hold on. His stomach grumbled from hunger and he estimated that the whole world could hear its protest. Seeing that everyone was talking about business, he stared at the ear of the big-mouthed monkey as he said this.

Even if he was starving to death, he doesn’t want to eat Bugu Dan. If he ate one, he couldn’t search the streets for food with Lin Big Brother for half a month.

The boy’s face was round and smooth, his watery eyes were crystal clear, no hidden emotion could be seen. Only four big words were written on his forehead – I am very hungry! With the noise coming from his belly, and the look of expectation on his face even as he attempted to hold his hunger back made the others who looked at his cute but pitiful appearance uncomfortable.

Lin Mao immediately pulled away from his pain and got up to pat Gong Lixin’s soft hair. He smiled lovingly. “Look at these old men, just talking about random things and starving poor Xiaoxin. This young man is still a growing boy. Three meals a day are indispensable.” jFD6qX

This boy really was a treasure. When he opened his mouth, he broke the tension caused by his daughter’s careless words. Gong Yuanhang’s entire body relaxed as he joked, “Yes, he only knows how to eat all day. Not just three meals a day but two more times at night as well.” Gong Yuanhang said as he raised his hand to signal the maids to cook.

When his father mentioned this, Gong Lixin also felt that he ate too much. He lowered his head, ashamed. His white cheeks were covered with two blushes, which was even more pleasing to the eye.

Song Haoran saw this and his heart itched. He wanted the child in his arms to have a good meal. The two pink cheeks blushed even harder, becoming practically red. Gong father and Lin Mao looked at each other with amusement before moving to the dining room. When Lin Wenbo passed the two people still sitting, he pulled at his friend’s grasp away and carried the dizzy Gong Lixin away from Song Haoran. Lin Wenbo saw his tender cheeks and couldn’t help poking them twice. He was secretly fascinated by the warmth he felt when he touched the youth.

Gong Xiangyi was glanced at by her father as he passed. After thinking about it, it didn’t matter if Lin Mao and the others disliked her. After experiencing the apocalypse, they would see wealth, rights and status as worthless things. At that time, building over dead bodies would be the equivalent to skinning one’s own flesh and blood; this would make one’s heart hurt just thinking about it. But what about now? The Lin family’s resources would be exchanged for protection and safety; after the apocalypse began, Lin Grandfather would not blame her, instead he would thank her. [3] tlUWBX

With this thought process, the troubles floating in Gong Xiangyi’s heart quickly dissipated. But in the end, what she said had still been wrong and she had irritated Lin Mao after all. Thus, Gong Xiangyi frequently gave him dishes and was very attentive during their meal.

“Good, the taste of the braised lion head made by Chef Wu is still so authentic.” The two families sat and ate together, the atmosphere was harmonious. Lin Mao’s mood became better, smiling and sighing in pleasure as he ate.

Gong Lixin heard there was braised lion head and took a bite to eat. He squinted his big eyes in delight, satisfaction could be seen on his face as he smiled. Lin grandfather’s taste was very close to his, he also thought that this was delicious.

Lin Wenbo and Song Haoran saw Gong Lixin, who was obviously hungry, concentrating on eating. He took the dishes he usually liked and put them into his bowl. The two helped place the food in his bowl from time to time. After a few months, the two people’s feelings towards Gong Lixin had changed from how they had initially viewed the boy; now, they got along with each other. 5EGNa9

Gong Xiangyi wanted to please this “Golden Thigh” Lin grandfather. Hearing his words filled with nostalgia and regret, she naturally understood his thoughts and quickly said, “If grandfather likes to eat this, I can ask the chef to make more and I can put it my space. Anyways, it won’t go bad in there. When you want to eat it in the future, I could take it out at any time. Oh yes, I remember you still like to have almond cakes. I bought a few large boxes and saved some. If you want to eat some in the future, just tell me.”

As she went on, Gong Xiangyi named a few dishes, all of them were favorites of Gong father, Lin Wenbo, Song Haoran and others. She said she only bought a lot of these things and if they wanted to eat them later, then there would be no problem.

She intended to make everyone happy by saying this, but she didn’t notice how her eager and enthusiastic mood contrasted to everyone else’s. Lin Mao smiled even as he stared daggers at her. He looked like a serious listener but the temperature around him was dropping lower and lower. Even Gong Yuanhang’s smile was a little forced.

Lin Wenbo frowned, his usual gentle smile could no longer be seen. Gong Xiangyi continued talking without paying attention to the fear, uneasiness and confusion ordinary people felt as they heard her talk about the apocalypse. Instead, she was full of ambition.  Lin Wenbo’s felt his heart grow cold as he saw her expression as she talked about the coming apocalypse. Gong Xiangyi was supposed to be kind and gentle; he didn’t know this cold-hearted woman in front of him. 0M4ARW

Gong Lixin listened to Gong Xiangyi while eating silently. Every time she mentioned different food, his expression changed. Gong Xiangyi’s space was similar to the Qiankun bag. She kept mentioning how much you could store and how long you could store delicious food. The space made food stay fresh indefinitely. Hearing this, he couldn’t really take out the Bugu Dan bottles whilst she talked about such a good thing.

‘Forget it, when father and the others really need it, he will take the pills out,’ Gong Lixin secretly told himself. His sister was being so resourceful, if he brings those out now, she might think that he’s competing with her, so it’s not good! He cancelled his plan of sending Bugu Dan to everyone.

As Song Haoran kept on listening as Gong Xiangyi opened and closed her mouth, he became more and more irritated. When she finally finished speaking, he coldly asked. “Why didn’t you think about buying something for Lixin? What about what he likes to eat?”

Gong Xiangyi was very cold to Lixin recently. Now she directly ignored Lixin which made Song Haoran very dissatisfied. And Gong Xiangyi talked about the apocalypse with eagerness which made him even more disgusted. He knows that only those with dark hearts would like disasters. dP2S6o

“Ah, Lixin loves to eat Caramel Pudding. Of course I remember, I’ll buy it for him.” Gong Xiangyi’s face slightly changed and she hastened to remedy the situation.

Song Haoran shot a meaningful glance at her before turning to face Gong Lixin who was smiling adorably at him. His face immediately softened and put more food into his bowl, gently advising him to eat more.

Gong father also shook his head at Gong Xiangyi, who was not afraid of anything, and motioned for her to shut up. Gong Xiangyi immediately bowed her head to eat, saying no more. The table was finally quiet.

    • Heeyy, I feel bad for the sister. She just wanted her family to live good when the apocalypse come, and her hatred for lixin (real owner) is totally understandable given the fact the he betrayed her in the apocalypse

  1. Reading that last note I kinda wanna regret reading today’s updates now instead of tomorrow XDXDXD but as I’d said time and again since middle school, I regret nothing~~~ XD thanks for the chapters~

    • I like gxy except for how she doesn’t like the mc. And I’m kind of annoyed with everybody bc they all want her to be kind and gentle and bc she’s not they think about her as some kind of monster, it’s kind of weird. Like aren’t they just pushing their uneasiness and dread about the apocalypse onto her, with their thoughts and stuff? Like she’s just tryna help y’all and like prepare your mental for the upcoming event. And they only dislike her bc she’s not the ideal woman in their eyes.

      • I guess what they want to say is that she looks really enthusiastic and happy for this apocalypse to come. So they can’t help but feel repulsed. I mean for them this is a new situation they just don’t want to talk too much about things like storing food and other things concerning that topic while having dinner. I would just tell her to shut up and eat so she doesn’t ruin my appetite…

      • I kind of understand her but I’ll tell her to shut up too if she keeps rambling things like that while having dinner. There’s a right time to discuss for that matter, if she keeps talking like that, my appetite will surely be ruined. In my family, no ones gonna talk bad things or prepared to be hit by a plate.

  2. Hhhhh. GXY is really too much. I think I can understand her since she came back from future but she really is selfish.
GLX is so thoughtful yeah. Even he hold back his plan to give the bugu Dan to others so his sister will not think that he try to compete with her. But look at his sister. So irritating.
And thank you so much for the update

  3. I can understand why GXY is acting like that. Anyone who went through the apocalypse would be hell bent on finding ways to survive. Her heart has long turned hard and cold. She was also betrayed in her last life so you can’t really blame her for being bitter as well.

    • Yea, like you don’t get that perspective in apocalypse rebirth but they all must have their own trauma. But it’s just that, you can understand where she’s coming from and wish she’d open her eyes to what’s going on around her, y’know!

  4. She’s digging her own grave…

  5. Can’t wait I’ll brave the mtls just for the satisfaction of reading such cute MC

  6. The more she shows her worth, the more others see her ugliness…

  7. Thanks for the hard work!

Frankly, I’m a bit disappointed in this author because of the extent she’s going to make us dislike the female lead GXY. So far, GXY hasn’t done anything actually bad other than guarding against GLX and her “husband” who all betrayed her the past life. I don’t get why she’s being villainized so much by the other characters for being “ruthless.” It’s just buying in to all those awful cliches that women have to be kind/sympathetic/innocent/pure. Ironically, GXY pretending to be pure/innocent/clueless-about-the-apocalypse is what makes his family like him? What equally shallow reasons.

Looks like the author is really enjoying coming up with a lot of empty reasons to make a 2D villain for everyone (and readers) to hate. This kind of shallow set up to hate a villain got pretty tiring in FOD as well (don’t think there was a single positive female lead in that one either).

    • FOD did have that lesbian chick in the Supermodel world that was pretty awesome. And there are quite a few female characters that joins Gong Lixin’s fan club who are pretty awesome (my favorite being the doctor). And those women aren’t all innocent/pure. But I understand what you mean about Gong Xiangyi’s circumstance. I find it frustrating as well to see her being that blind and wish the author added some sympathetic moments, at least, for her.

    • She’s not a villain. She’s just insensitive and prejudiced. If she really cared for her family, she should have considered their feelings. Preparing for the apocalypse is okay. Guarding against those who harmed her is okay as well. But she forgot to reassure her family and emotionally support them. It’s something that MC unintentionally does in her place. Because MC suffered horribly, he couldn’t help but marvel at the novelties before him which makes him a refreshing person to the family who was pressed hard to prepare for doomsday. The glaring difference between the two allowed the family and the readers to view her negatively.
      • Yes that is very true she is insensitive she is focused on surviving instead of comforting her family and reassuring them as she has been through this before…While mc is not cold and makes the people surrounding him happy…I feel like she will hate mc more as the family will have a more favorable impression of him and think that he is faking it. She is not a villain but I still don’t like her just because… I do not feel like the author is forcing her to be a villain it’s just her personality after being through the apocalypse differs a lot from everybody else, I actually feel like the author is reasonable.
      • I agree, I dislike rebirth characters where they isolate the people who harmed them. She admits there are a lot of changes from her rebirth. Instead of investigating, she is making herself look bad. She could have waited for her brother to try to harm her before retaliating.

    • I do not think that the family and fiance want her to be innocent and pure it’s just her sudden change of personality after the ”dream” is pretty huge also it’s the fact that she has the cold indifferent personality that makes people dislike her as she can not read the room like how she starts talking about the apocalypse while they are all happily eating and are trying not to worry… it’s also the fact that she leaves out her younger brother when talking about the food she has prepared, we know why because she hates him, but it feels mean and rude also Old Lin has obviously seen something wrong with her character even in the past… so there could have been something we don’t know. Anyway, I’m not saying that your comment is wrong this is just my point of view on things.
  8. ahhh the sister really doesn’t deserve to be hated and mistreated… she really can’t help being the way she is, and all her intentions are good. why does the author hate her :'(

  9. Feels like author wanted to force her into being a villain :/ From what it seems like she’s suppppeeerr scarred from her memories and it’s so hard to blame her. But then this feels like her character did a 180

  10. Alright, I think I’m dropping this novel. I dislike the usual BL troupe of making fenale characters villains even when they do something worthwhile.

Though GX is a bit tunnel visioned and over enthusiastic about preparations, All her good actions are somehow painted bad, and the mc by plot armor just has to sit on a couch and watch cartoons and everybody will fall under the light of his soothing smile and love him. I mean, they did not want to change the cartoon channel to check a world changing news. I love cartoons, but I’d rather check news first then switch back to cartoons.

As a person who appreciates people who work hard, I find this plot armor disgusting.

I think the story would have developed better angst if the characters appreciated the high points of both siblings and were torn between both sides. A story is only as good as its villains, this one doesn’t make me happy 🙁

  11. Yeah, she doesn’t read the mood.

“The meaning of life was not to become the strongest but to cherish what you have” Maybe like Goal as strongest: greed, selfish, single minded, cold heart, dissatisfaction Cherish what you have: strength naturally comes after, people happy, open minded, accepting Sounds familiar… Lol Maybe XiangYi encompasses the negative side of us. Tbh I struggle with living in the present compared to living in the future sometimes. I worry and worry if one day I’ll be in the streets and forget to appreciate the food and roof I have over my head, and this novel to read. Especially since she’s experienced the “future” before. It seemed rude of her to suggest implicitly she wanted to please them by bartering goods with them, and that they only cared to approach her if they thought about such selfish things.

  12. The author’s narration could be more sympathetic to GXY. The other characters don’t have to like her, but the author should at least treat all her children equally. It’s frustrating when a 3rd person omniscient narration seems overly biased–it’s not even about immersion because we can see everyone’s thoughts by default, so why the hardcore trashing of GXY? She IS trying to keep everyone healthy, safe, and even mildly comfortable.

I can at least understand why Grandpa Lin and LWB are upset with her. It’s truly unpleasant to be thought of as someone who only cares about monetary gains and losses, especially when the Lin family in this case is putting EVERYTHING on the line to support the Gong family. The fact that they’re even willing to do so speaks to the deep friendship between the two families. It isn’t really about the actual monetary assets; it’s about the fact that those monetary assets represent the accumulated blood, sweat, tears of the Lin ancestors as they hoped for a good future for their descendants. It’s like being reluctant to sell off an heirloom your beloved grandmother left to you in order to keep your apartment, and then your roommate accusing you of valuing wealth too much because you’re reluctant. like, BRO so not the point! Also rude.

Girl just needs to learn to read a room. Not sure how she didn’t learn during her first run through apocalypse because that shit could saved her life

  13. “Too much protectiveness can make someone hate you” and that’s what GXY is doing, of course any normal person who has knowledge about the past would do this, but for me personally, I’d rather spend most of my days with my family being happy, eating and living my life with them to the fullest, and of course planning on what to do during the outbreak. She has been reborn yet she still doesn’t know how to read the atmosphere, she was too paranoid. But I understand her, she was betrayed by her brother in the past life, and all she wants is to make her family’s life in the apocalypse better.

But she’s missing alot, her days with her loved ones, her new brother’s attitude, the world without apocalypse, and so much more.

Her ways are not wrong but also not right and that’s the reason why people is hating her but also having sympathy for her, and that’s what happening to me (ಥ﹏ಥ)

  14. I think what she fails to understand is how insensitive she’s being. I fully understand her since she has trauma from her past life. But she seems to be to enthusiastic about the apocalypse so it comes off like she looking forward to it. I would have like her if she balanced both preparing for the apocalypse and enjoying her time with her family. But she just to caught up in her past so it feels like she just cold harded and only really cares about her self. I not sure if I’m making sense but that’s just my thoughts on this.

      • Yeah, but does she show it to the other? No. She always act like she is excited for the apocalipse. She doesn’t take the time to appreciate the time left. This is something that a lot of “reborn before apocalypse” type of mc always do but are taught to be wrong for side characters in their novel

  15. Whats wrong with these men? the sister gave them valuable, life saving information for free and they have the energy to nitpick on how she said it? Not one mention of gratitude was done as if it was her due to say these things. And LW whining about not being comforted by his lover when shes the one whos under the most pressure with her power and responsibility to convince an in law who doesnt like her.

  16. yeah she shouldnt bend over backwards for these ppl. Shes obviously not appreciated and should just offer what is needed.

  17. As the author said xiangyi was betrayed by her younger brother, I was hoping her to get a new chance. & I even decided to drop this novel if she get bad ending..Now I’m starting to have dilemma as the author wrote xiangyi as an black hearted person, …Although I love bl novel, I’m starting to feel the author ‘s grudge against women may be serious 🥴 I love MC cuteness and lovely character but I feel uncomfortable that xiangyi need to blacken..She deserves a second chance too…I hope she will have a better ending later..I’ll continue reading for now….

  18. I get that GXY wants both families to survive in the upcoming apocalypse, and that she had experienced the harshness of her past life and that she was betrayed by her little half-brother. However, her eyes show excitement and a crafty light, what people who were unable to experience the apocalypse would not find it uncomfortable?

We ask why the people around her are so comfortable being with GLX, it is because he looks like a single spot of light in the darkness, where people can be at ease without worrying about the upcoming apocalypse. On the other hand, although the people appreciate the way GXY prepares for the upcoming apocalypse, she had just lost her warmth for other people and left only with the thought of survival. GLX had never tasted freedom and happiness in his past life, but he still did not lose his warmth around people.

I can’t hate GXY, since everyone’s response to stimulus is different, thus, leading to different changes in their personality and id. I don’t think the author wrote her character due to the necessity of having an antagonist, I think her being like this from the start would be better soon.

  19. The author really hates Gong Xiangyi and it makes me sad. She’s a good girl and if the genre wasn’t yaoi, she could become the main character. She’s trying her best but everyone hates her. On the other side Gong Lixin literally just breathes and people fall in love with him. It’s too unfair 😢

  20. You’d think that she would know when to read the room during the apocalypse, apparently she needs more apocalypse time a dangerous people to learn that.

  21. Lol. Author def try their best painted sis as villain. But rather than that, what I saw is simply miscommunication.

Everyone don’t know that sis actually experience these apocalypse. They just thought she dream the future and that is a huge difference.

For me, people will have different level of empathy for certain experience. If they knew she first handedly experience those gruesome day, they can accept her sudden changes. Why she suddenly become cold, transactional, and insecure. But because she told them she dream those event, they unable to comprehend why she change to this degree hence the resentment.

Sis experience the apocalypse for a second time, hence she just want the preparation to be perfect, her scary feeling for doomsday lessened. While others, they will encounter the apocalypse for the first time, not only they have to accept that apocalypse will happen, which a mixed of negative emotions, they also have to prepare all the resources.

Remember, the resources preparation not coming from sis only, its contributed by everyone. That’s why, what they need at the moment, not the resources assurance, but emotional assurance.

The way author make sis say something def make sis seem bad, but reaction by others from that are normal.

    • They didn’t think she just dreamed about the apocalypse, she’s the one who TOLD them and WANTED them to think that it was just her dream and her self-proclaimed prophecy. I mean yeah, she deserve to hate her brother and deserve to want to be stronger and live happily. But, the mc isn’t her brother who betrayed her, the mc doesn’t deserve to be hated because of the things he didn’t even commit. And she’s just so insensitive, it’s annoying, god! She’s not the only one who has a miserable life in her past, mc’s beemn more the one who experienced far worse things in his last life, but look at him, yes he’s not pure and innocent gary sue, but he’s simple minded clear.

I guess that’s what separate protagonists and villains, protagonists would be like, “The world hurt me so I wont let other people get hurt like I did”, and villains would be motivated and be like, “The world hurt me so I would do the same”.

  22. We are all just constructs of our experiences with a bit of genetics in the mix. Trauma changes people.

  23. Rereading this after awhile (great translation btw) and still feel uncomfortable towards GXY’s character. Bro she literally had to experience the apocalypse first-hand and came back determined to protect her loved ones. Yet GXY is getting shat on for being cold and not thinking about her family members emotions, but none of them have asked her if she’s okay when she’s clearly the one traumatised? Why is grandad Lin pissy because she can’t read a room? She’s literally saving your lives out here. I also feel like if the MC had said he was ‘gonna save their favourite foods for the apocalypse’ it would’ve been seen as cute but for her, it’s insensitive. Why we always gotta put female characters down to make the MC (in BL and BG) look better?

I don’t remember but I think GXY had more character development later but she was also given a lot of unnecessarily ‘bad’ traits (ie. ‘bossy’ when she’s just leading). Not everybody can come out from trauma like the MC, full of hope and gratefulness and resilience. Sometimes you come out with a thick shell and a hardened heart. There were things she should’ve shared but I don’t blame her for not being able to trust others after her last life. If only girly got a fiancé that actually cared about her rather than just wish she cared about him.

  24. أنا am at sister side lol , I know y’all brainwashed by Chinese authors but what she do is normal haha

سhe really try to accept her stupid brother and didn’t revenge at all ! She is the real marry so

سe know that her husband is Bi ( he clearly go after her brother in the past life )

أyway am at her side even if she do something they deserve it

  25. It feels like she didn’t learn anything from her previous life and the only thing in her eyes was LW. Like a teenager who forgets about the rest of the world because of a toxic first love

  26. Idk villainizing her seems cheap, she is deeply traumatized and when through hell on earth. I don’t think I’d be the same either. Tact is not helpful in the end times
