This made me sad. I don’t know if Gu Liang is really responsible for his mother’s and the old lady’s death, BUT, he carries the weight of that guilt every day. It’s so heavy a burden that he can’t bring himself to open up and really trust anyone, even Yang Ye who has been with him in 3 Murder Mysteries.
The part of him saying to let him be willful and saying that, for once, he wants to save someone made me tear up.

I bet the real murderer is Begger Ding. He killed himself, so he is his own murderer. It was his own choice to act on GL’s words. He wasn’t forced to do it. Therefore, he is the murderer.

I have a hard time believe Gu Liang would talk anyone into suicide, especially after everything he’s experienced. He wasn’t able to kill Principal Zha either, and the Men in Black had to do it.
Technically, Gu Liang didn’t, Boss Meng did. And I think in light up of the punishment he just suffered for not killing Principal Zha, and knowing that he was bound to die again that night, he chose to talk Beggar Ding into the suicide, while not writing down the details in his journal so he would never remember.
The MC … he is so sad and at the same time hilarious. Wow, I love how ML is smarter than MC, taking the false and logical argument from the MC to help the suicidal MC.
