I think if Ye Chen and Yu Xingzhe actually had a romantic relationship with who they are right now, it’d just be extremely toxic. Just with how controlling and impulsive Yu Xingzhe is, the carefree Ye Chen really would not like that. And then Yu Xingzhd wouldn’t like that Ye Chen is resisting and would confine him more.
