I Just Want A Simple Life (ABO)Chapter 8

{ Chapter Eight }

  5LIi4R

There was one exception to Finian’s distaste of attending public gatherings. It was a ceremony he himself had taken part in when he was younger, and so had his Omega father, and his father before him. Having spoken about it repeatedly following Caius’ recent thirteenth birthday, the house safely tucked away in the meadows was filled to the brim with excitement as time ticked by and the all-important day grew closer.

Caius remembered every detail of what he was once told by his papa regarding the ceremony in his past life, but what sullied the memories was a great sense of regret. Because by the time he was thirteen years old, he and his papa had been evicted from their home and had all their belongings auctioned off to cover extortionate debts. They were left to live in an apartment that was far from hospitable for any living creature— let alone for two Omegas.

So the excitement this time around inevitably transferred from father to son, and Caius eagerly joined in with the preparations for such an auspicious event.

Across the galaxy, there were different renditions of the ceremony, where the history behind it  was distorted beyond recognition. But Caius wasn’t one of those people who had been whispered self-serving stories, because he had a parent who was just as devoted to the true tale as his predecessors were. qtgHrz

The ceremony was undeniably a celebration, one in which welcomed young Omega’s to their thirteenth year of life. Which, in the not too distant past, was considered lucky given the magnitude of a great affliction which decimated the Omega population across the galaxy.

Only through the meticulous safeguarding of any and all Omega bloodlines was it brought under containment.

A radical idea brought about by a collective, that eventually went on to form Nova’s Governing-Body.

Which was the most well-known version of the story, where newly-turned thirteen year old Omegas were used as catalysts for celebrations entirely dedicated towards Nova. This wasn’t a mandatory event, but one that happened once a year and welcomed thousands of spectators who were granted the opportunity to take part in the festivities and bestow luck upon the children.

Sq4Y5h

It happened to perfectly coincide with the time in which only those special Omegas, hailing from powerful families, graduated from Thebaria First and went on to attend the Finishing-School, Cora. Which, implemented by Nova’s law, was the exact timeframe in which Nova’s Governing-Body was permitted to publicly act as match-maker on behalf of the leading families who placed all of their faith in their government.

So by the time these distinguished Omegas successfully finished Cora, almost all of them had pre-arranged marriages that everyone within Nova knew about.

It was all knowledge Caius kept to himself, knowing that his papa would be distraught if he accidentally admitted he knew. As oblivious as he was at times, it was impossible not to know at least that much. Since he had once attended Cora, and finished the school as the only one who hadn’t been paired with anybody. At the time, he never grasped how it all worked until later in his life when he figured out that it was probably due to Nova’s Governing-Body; people his papa had somehow angered along the way.

But he no longer thought about it, as he happily spent his past few years being homeschooled and actively avoiding the path he once took. mAoB z

It led to the present day, where he nervously kept one white-gloved hand on the railing as he took the steps down from his papa’s transporter. The owner was directly behind him, after previously whispering soft reassurances into his ear before the doors opened up. But in attendance with the two Omegas, was a third who had been more than happy to share his opinion on the entire event.

Traditionally the ceremony took place in the grandest of locations, which would always have to be on Nova itself considering that most taking part dedicated the festivities towards their Governing-Body. But the trio left #OWS4 exceptionally late if they were destined for the large planet that shone within the vastness of space.

In fact their destination made for a much shorter journey.

#OWS3 was just as remote as the oldest of the off-world settlements, #OWS5. But unlike #OWS5 which was considered archaic to those who possessed an unbiased view and were able to appreciate what was displayed in their museums, #OWS3 was known for a completely different reason. LU5igW

It was the destination of a pilgrimage. And it also happened to be Finian’s favourite planet outside of their own. Lands deemed spiritual, but only fairly recently. This was due to the other tale in which was told regarding the ceremony, and most importantly the one that Caius knew off-by-heart.

In the bleak days where the affliction mercilessly took ahold of Omegas and gave them little chance of survival, people were desperately trying to find a cure. Science had undoubtedly enhanced their way of life and propelled them into the stars where their ancestors had only once scratched the surface. But in their eagerness to march onwards, many things were lost to the past.

Until one man, who oftentimes spent his time looking in that same direction when it came everyone’s shared history, felt desperate enough to journey away from the safety of his home-planet and isolate himself in order to somehow make his voice heard among the masses. It took him to #OWS3, where the temperature was known to shift dramatically in a matter of minutes. But through thick and thin, the man never budged.

He dropped to his knees and prayed. Something he only knew how to do from reading ancient texts, his mind scrambled due to the endless variations. He pleaded for the faith that was so prevalent in the old-times. Even as his fingers grew numb due to frostbite and his skin blistered due to sunburn, the man persevered. vIaDBG

Over and over he whispered his pleas, wishing for the unforgiving affliction to be taken away. And on the final day where the man’s body all but lost what remained of its strength and he lay on his front with his face submerged in the frost-bitten grass, he was given a response. One he went on to describe with the biggest of smiles on his exhausted face.

The gentlest of warm breezes within the surrounding ensnares of the winter air. Like the first sign of life after enduring the long, harsh icy months.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

By the time the man returned to his transporter, dragging his body along by his very fingertips, he was greeted by the sight of half-frozen screens filled with smiles and celebrations. The affliction had vanished without a trace, but the victims of such an illness never to be forgotten.

There was no doubt in the man’s mind that what he had experienced was miraculous. That unwavering piety manifested itself as the man retold his tale with the warmest of hearts and bought #OWS3 from Nova, for where flocks of people were able to express their gratitude just as fervently as he once did.  OxElSd

Caius loved when his papa told him the story, he treasured the way his beloved parent smiled proudly as he spoke of their distant relatives who eventually came together with the founder and carved the small space within their all-encompassing galaxy. Making it into the what it was today, where once a year people came to show their utmost appreciation.

In all the previous years, a vast majority of people acknowledged their gratefulness on Nova. It allowed #OWS3 a quiet space for those who wished to convey their words through prayers. But as Caius took the final step and stood directly on the ground of the small planet, he was surprised to find copious amounts of top-of-the-range transporters dotted around.

Over his shoulder, his papa mirrored his expression and thus confirmed it was out of the ordinary.

That didn’t stop him from quickly fussing over his son though; pulling the fur-lined collar of his cloak flush against his throat and then the simple hood connected to it. 3YeV0Z

“Keep bundled up until we reach the thermal, my soul.”

In the three years Caius had spent reliving his past life, he had grown to be an almost exact replica of his papa when he was thirteen years old. The only differences between them was perhaps the fullness of Caius’ eyelashes and the slight curls that took hold of the ends of Caius’ long white hair which was tied back on this occasion. They were traits belonging to the parent he had never met.

The only addition to his whole outfit that was completely new, was felt by Caius as his hair sat draped over his shoulder and cool metal brushed against his cheek as they walked towards the sole building that sat on #OWS3.

The metal accessory was courtesy of his teacher. A common accessory Ace liked to decoratively wear within his obsidian-coloured hair and what had immediately drawn Caius’ attention when they first met. Everything about the man was quirky, and Ace seemed to thrive off that knowledge. His smile growing a little wider, and more predatory whenever someone dared to think they could get away with approaching him with obvious intentions.

Caius had once had to ask his papa why many Alphas and Betas fled with such disgruntled looks on their faces when the trio sat down for dinner off-world. His father had hidden his very obvious amusement when he responded, shrugging his shoulders and merely putting it down to Ace having a strong character.

Inevitably Caius found his gaze following Ace because of his peculiarities, ones he couldn’t quite wrap his head around. But after three years and endless pieces of artworks later, Caius was delighted when he was given the gift of a long onyx chain that clipped into his hair and at the very end was a little star. EKS75s

Caius looked in every direction as they walked along the open path that had been created to lead directly towards the main building of worship. It had been built within one of the only thermals on the designer planet. Which meant that the unforgiving cold air swirled around, avoiding the particular pocket of land. As a consequence, vegetation was given a chance to survive.

So in the open expanses of the surrounding lands, and sat directly in the middle of everyone’s field of vision was a white building that was embracing the ever-growing plants which were encouraged to grow against its surface. But their view was limited due to the abundance of trees sprouting pink blossom that were deliberately planted in a circle all around it. And that was just the outer circle.

When they were close enough to be prepared to step through the archway created by twisting aged tree roots, Caius hadn’t realised he had stopped walking. Only the gentlest of chuckles brought his attention back and he looked to find both Ace and his papa had stopped and turned back to wait for him.

Caius wanted to capture the sight as soon as he saw it. His father and Ace were light and dark against the canopy of soft pinks. They were breathtaking. Yg9V8B

When he started moving again, under the slight heel of his boot were ornately-placed flat stones that allowed plant-life to grow in abundance within the spaces in between.

“I knew you would like it,” his papa confessed. “I couldn’t wait to bring you here again.”

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

“I’ve been here before?” That was something Caius wouldn’t have forgotten if he was told about.

There was a delicate smile on his face, “You were only a few days old, so you certainly won’t remember, but I was so incredibly nervous to have such a beautiful baby boy in my arms so suddenly. It’s one thing carrying a child, where you know they are safe and sound, then the next moment their little life is entirely your responsibility.”  q2b18x

Those identical soft blue eyes regarded Caius with such tenderness as he reminisced. “You cried up until the very moment you opened your eyes when I held you. From then on, not even a peep. It worried me because I was told that as a child, all I ever did was cry. So I came here in order to ease my worries, and more importantly to seek advice on my tiny little silent baby.”

Caius felt his mouth curve to mirror his papa’s expression.

“Let us go give thanks and then I will take you to a special place just for our family.”

Because of Caius not remembering he had been there before, there was no way he would know how busy it usually got on this particular day of the year. But judging by his papa’s occasional slip in expressions, where his brows would pinch together and his jaw visibly clench, the amount of people who wore white and very flashy golds was probably not normal. tWvITh

Wading through the crowd, some of whom greeted them with the slightest of nods while others just stared, they made it to the entrance of the spectacular building. And what was immediately noticeable was the sheer size of the doors that stood open; a slight breeze plucking the surrounding blossoms from their branches and carrying them to the entrance where people stepped through.

Caius was prepared to keep on walking, eager to see what the inside of the building was like. He only stopped when his name was softly called and he turned to see that neither of the adults had followed him inside. He blinked.

“This brief time allows us all to have a moment of reflection, so why don’t we let Caius go and see the wonders himself? I remember the first time I stepped inside of this building and it took my breath away.” Ace confessed sincerely, turning his gaze towards Finian.

Who opened his mouth to probably voice the reason why his expression was so confused. But Ace stopped him short and inched towards him, mumbling a few words under his breath. Only one of which Caius deciphered as ‘independence’. mzWSAk

His papa conveyed an entire argument purely through the heat of his gaze as he had a staring contest with Ace, but eventually lightened his expression considerably and agreed with the decision with a simple nod.

Which delighted Caius’ teacher, who quickly encouraged him to get going. “We’ll be right outside, little star. Also, don’t forget our little techniques we’ve perfected.”

“Yes, I’ll remember.”

In order not to completely lose focus of his present situation by the risk of being overloaded with new eye-catching things all around him, Caius was repeatedly taught various breathing exercises over the past few years. Ace often described them as moments of mindfulness. They were tedious at first, mainly because Caius didn’t understand how they would benefit him. Since he already knew how to breathe. UBd ts

But slowly but surely he began to understand. He felt that he was becoming less and less absorbed into his artwork, and more like he was in control of when and where he could stop. The control faded the longer a session went on, however, so whenever he did any artwork someone had to be present to make sure he abided by the time limitations.

Something both his papa and Ace told him which was exactly the same, was that he shouldn’t take the time constraints as a form of punishment. They would smile and say that he would understand when the situation was right in the future, and Caius… now knew that they were right.

He had to crane back his head in order to fully appreciate the magnitude of the interior of the building. There was so much which seemed to have been packed into a building that still looked spacious. He felt his breathing get a little heavier as he debated on which direction to go.

There was an internal struggle, and for a few minutes he battled to calm himself down. It was the same bubbling excitement which always resurfaced when Ace was going to demonstrate a new medium of art. But he would never continue the lesson until Caius had returned to a calmed state of mind. qxtn6

Remembering all the little tricks, Caius quietly took deep breaths to himself, squeezing his fingers together into fists and then flexing them outwards. It was never intended to take his excitement away, but it helped him keep a rational mind. Which Caius understood was an anxiety of his mentor’s given that there would inevitably be times where he was on his own.

Even though there were so many people standing around outside, the actual building itself was relatively empty. Giving Caius that sense of peace he needed in that moment. It aided in him composing himself fairly quickly, where he could then proceed to look on in awe at one of the nearest statues.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Just as the trees outside were deliberately placed in a circular formation, where they increasingly clustered together the closer one got to the building itself, which stood directly in the centre, the interior followed a similar pattern.

All around the circular-shaped room was a colonnade, where outstandingly detailed statues rested against and depicted all sorts of different stories. They were made out of all sorts of different materials that Caius was delighted to mostly recognise. He listed them off in his head as he walked around; the small heel of his boot meeting with the marbled flooring that felt completely different from the simple stone-work outside. DMTfa1

Stone, wood, metal, clay, ivory…

There were much more sturdier materials that were used on sculptures in the present and hugely technologically-advanced day, but Caius wondered if limiting the statues to those few materials was in some way related to the ancients, to whom the founder within the tale was displaying his utmost respect for.

Even under the thin fabric of his gloves, Caius felt the differences in textures. It made him smile.

Predictably, the one sculpture that he lingered in front of was one made entirely out of metal cords. They had been woven together along with others to create a magnificent image of a parent and their child. Probably not as detailed as the rest, since there were limits to the expressions that could be created; Caius’ heart was warmed by the sculpture. His eyes followed the fluid lines of the material and it brought his gaze to the child who was pointing from within the arms of their parent. 1wn2d9

The child was pointing to the centre of the room, to a grand archway that was amazing but not as breathtaking as Caius found the individual sculptures.

Water trickled down from the archway, forming the finest sheet of water that acted almost like glass. It allowed people to see straight through, with only the slightest of distortions. Which, as Caius grew nearer and examined the water-feature, could almost hear Ace exclaiming that it was a deliberate technique used by the artist.

The water-feature was not the masterpiece, in fact it was the room visible directly through the water that was the true prize of the building. The archway in the middle of the room perfectly aligned with the doorframe leading onwards. And most importantly where the offering would take place; Caius’ intended destination.

When learning about the ceremony, and what would take place, Caius inevitably learned about the procession on Nova. Each and every child had their names broadcasted among the expectant crowds who cheered with all their might. But the vital part of that ceremony was the man who presided over it. Who, from what little Caius knew or cared about politics, was an important part of Nova’s Governing Body. U3supt

The ceremony on #OWS3 was startlingly different. Smaller, more personal. Instead the most crucial part involved a flower. Which is why it made sense that the room leading off of the circular hall was completely filled with them. It made Caius momentarily long for home.

What became clear was that the building was in fact made up of a series of circular rooms. But the flowers blooming spectacularly was undeniably the heart of it. With a glass roof, it acted as a courtyard leading into other rooms.

Caius felt compelled to brush back his hood, not wanting the material to hinder any inch of his view. But just as much as it was a treat for the eyes, the smell was enough to stop his movements for several moments.

There was a flower of every single variation, of every single colour. There was no right or wrong one to choose, instead it was a personal choice.  4YFsfa

Whichever one an individual deemed the most beautiful was the one that was offered as tribute. There was no monetary involvement, no luxurious gift. Just a flower that represented yet another child who wouldn’t have been alive if it wasn’t for the miraculous curing of the affliction.

It would have been perfect, if it hadn’t have been for the disruptive high-pitched voices coming from an area across from where Caius stood. The flowers thankfully kept his presence hidden, but there was always that niggling curiosity that came with attaching a voice to a face.

Clenching and unclenching his hands, Caius refocused back on the reason he was there. He moved around, occasionally nudging a petal with his gloved fingers. He found it more difficult than he had originally anticipated.

“Caius, is that you?” ludvkX

The deep voice alone made it clear that it wasn’t one of the few who had spent the last short while complaining incessantly. Instead, when Caius turned his head, he spotted a fresh-faced young man. The look of surprise that morphed into a smile was truly befitting of their pretty surroundings.

“Um..”

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

“It really is you,” he said in honest disbelief. However, Caius was lost on how to respond, since he genuinely couldn’t remember who the man dressed in white and gold was. Which thankfully came across quite clearly, since the handsome stranger smiled. “I’m guessing you don’t remember who I am?”

It gave Caius the opportunity to simply shake his head, instead of fumbling over the correct words. FPECvd

The man maintained his smile, his white teeth exposed as he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. His hair was as yellow as some of the vibrant flowers around them, but cropped short and styled in a somewhat familiar way which Caius couldn’t place.

“I don’t blame you, I was a few years above you in Thebaria First. So we didn’t exactly cross paths on many occasions. I’m Rowan Tryst.” Although his eyes were blue, like Caius’ own, there was a completely different feel to them. They were bold, confident and what Caius soon figured out, belonged to an Alpha.

But even though the man radiated kindness, Caius still couldn’t remember him and instead of being offended it proved to send the man into a fit of giggles. He clutched his stomach as he laughed, his deep voice pleasing to the ears and confusing to Caius who had done nothing but stand there and shake his head once.

“I won’t deny, that hurts my pride a little,” he winked. “But I’m not surprised you haven’t heard my name before. From what I remember of you, you were always a quiet one who liked your own space.” ZTL5Yx

What was three years for Rowan Tryst was a lot longer for Caius, but then again he never really paid much attention to anyone when attending Thebaria First because their first reaction to him was always to scowl, sneer and mutter things under their breath.

“I see that some things haven’t changed. I’m sorry if I have disturbed you, it just took me by surprise because I never knew why you suddenly left.”

Rowan Tryst was tall, and almost towered over him. Aware of this, the man who liked to smile a lot had kept a bit of distance between them. But his presence was still a lot for Caius to handle, because the only people he had surrounded himself with over the past few years knew that he liked a gentler approach, or just a much quieter one.

“You… haven’t disturbed me.” Caius dragged out his obvious attempt at telling a white lie. It allowed him the chance to turn his head away and look back to what was creating the bursts of colours and beautiful smells. “I’m struggling to choose.” He admitted. zAlBO1

Rowan stepped forward but ended up beside him, their sides almost brushing as they looked at the flowers. “They’re all very eye-catching. How many are you going to offer?”

“You can choose more than one?” Caius abruptly wondered, looking up at the young man who was caught by surprise.

His dimples were clearer now that they stood closer together. “Yes, from what I’ve heard there’s no limit. Someone I know actually just chose a bunch of them because he couldn’t decide.”

“A bunch of them..” Caius echoed as he thought about it. In the end he shook his head, “I think one is enough for me. That way I can channel all my thoughts and prayers into one flower.” QMfXpc

Rowan maintained his smile, “That suits you. Well, I don’t want to get in your way, so I’ll head back and find those I came here with.” He was turning to leave and the words popped out of Caius’ mouth.

“Is that why you’re here? I mean.. you’re not an Omega.”

“No, I’m not.” He laughed. “But I have quite a few friends who are and they had heard of the beauty of this place, so I had to come and see it for myself. I have to admit they were right.” Their gazes never broke, up until Caius looked away.

He dropped his voice so it was quieter, more intimate. “I’m really happy I got to meet you again, Caius. I hope there are more opportunities in the near future.” Then he left and Caius couldn’t help himself as he watched his back. 6W8gaw

Rowan wore a white and gold cloak attached at the shoulders to a uniform that had gold embellishments on the front, clinging and emphasising a frame that would undoubtedly grow strong in the future. As was typically the case with Alphas.

The image proudly displayed on the white background of the cloak was a gold star. One that stood as prominent as the planet the young man swore his allegiance to.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Caius wrinkled his brows and shook his head, looking away. His fingers stretched out and he ended up choosing a pretty yellow-coloured flower that had never been too far out of reach. He selected from the middle and the one he considered to be the better looking out of them all.

He rolled the stem between his thumb and index finger, bringing it up to his nose so he could take in it’s lovely scent. UtAPrC

As he started walking towards the entrance of the next room, where he would finally proceed with the offering, he momentarily lost concentration as the dimples of a certain young man curiously replayed in his mind. It was all it took as a force slammed into his shoulder and threw him off balance.

His hand shot out to catch himself, but in doing so he would have crushed some of the flowers nearest to him, so instead he allowed his body to fall. The precious plant he had once held tumbled to the ground and was crushed under a foot in a matter of seconds.

Caius did remember the face of one of the young Omegas who stood as culprit for pushing him down. It wasn’t necessarily his features, which were obviously as beautiful as Caius suspected they would be, that helped him remember the boy. Instead it was his expression, contorted into absolute disgust as he looked down his nose at him. A direct replica of the one his mother had also shown Caius on his first day at Thebaria First.

“Remember your place, runt.” So the nickname had never changed. MlZBtr

After well and truly trampling over the innocent flower, his old bullies left without any hesitation. Their speedy exit testament to their eagerness to keep their reputations as clean as their faces.

Caius climbed to his feet and grumbled a word or two when his ankle punished him for taking pity on the flowers instead of protecting himself.

He reached down for the abused plant and froze when the gentle weight of the accessory in his hair slipped and began to fall. Only then did Caius frantically move, clinging onto it tightly before it could touch the ground. His heart racing as he felt the anguish of what could have been if Ace’s present had smashed to pieces.

It was enough to trigger what Caius had tried his best to prevent. The colours became too bright, the smells overpowering. swkAoJ

He squeezed the chain in his hand and tried taking deep breaths.

Vaguely he thought he heard a voice in the process of repeating a familiar phrase to himself that his papa had whispered to him since he was a child. He reminded himself that they were waiting outside, that they had complete faith that he could cope.

A hand clamped down on his shoulder and he jerked away, spinning round.

Instinctively he stepped away, the height of the man even greater than Rowan Tryst’s. His face was young, but he looked angry and that wasn’t mingling well with the skittish mood Caius was struggling with. FyxBdU

Dark green eyes scanned him quickly, and Caius guessed that he was waiting for an answer to a question he hadn’t heard.

“I asked if you dropped this? It was on the floor.”

Another flower, one he had likely disturbed when he clumsily fell to the ground. But this one was completely white, delicate. In the young man’s hands it looked even more fragile and Caius couldn’t bring himself to reject it. He held out the hand that wasn’t desperately holding onto the onyx trinket.

“I’m not going to hurt you.” The dark-haired man said and in light of Caius’ confused face he frowned. “You’re trembling.” He stated as if that was obvious. U35XzY

“Oh. No, it’s not you. It was just a little spillage, that’s all.”

Understandably the man had no idea what he was talking about, but didn’t say anything else. He handed over the white flower which Caius now knew suited him much better and gave a very formal almost saluting gesture. Catching himself in a force of habit, the man wearing a nice deep blue uniform stumbled over his own actions and in a sudden eagerness to end the awkwardness, said a quick and blunt goodbye and marched off.

Which surprisingly, seeing someone else struggling with their own mind and body, gave Caius that single moment’s distraction from his blind panic. Heart still thumping, he now looked at the one flower he hadn’t put much thought into choosing, and yet thought was perfect.

His chest was much lighter by the time he entered the inner-chamber and placed his single rose into one of the many vases that had been integrated into the wall. He purposefully avoided slotting his anywhere near the bouquets of flowers, which Caius had to guess were placed courtesy of his old classmates. Instead his stood alone, but as someone who appreciated sights more than most, Caius had to confess that there was an undeniable beauty to it. Ym4gzh

He looked up, at the great windows that allowed an abundance of light to shine down on him. In absolute silence, only then did he feel strong enough to close his eyes and give thanks.

Not just for the affliction, instead Caius added an extra layer of gratitude for being given a second chance. Regardless of different beliefs, there was something undoubtedly miraculous about that.

  1. Me: O oh Someone hit my bottom line

Also Me: Roll up my sleeve…… I need to beaten some ungrateful b*stard brats!!! O_O###

  2. Seems like someone wants to get beaten up, huh ^_^ Also, did he end up choosing the white one or the yellow one?? I didn’t quite get that bit

    Thanks for the chapter! 🙂

  3. I feel like I’m overthinking and over-reading all the guys coming up to Caius. I’m gonna become a helicopter fan haha. Wonder if dimple boy has bad intentions to Caius, also…who was the guy who gave him the flower? Maybe he was flirting with him by giving him a flower, for some reason I like dark haired guy better than dimple boy haha

  4. Need to protect my Jelly Bean… He’s so innocent

I wonder if nova’s government will change later

  5. I’m so weary of all the characters on here lol. To be fair, I’m like that IRL too.

I hope one of those young alphas are ok >_<

    Thanks for the chapter <3

  6. Two young alphas talking to Caius Just the moment he’s alone… That can’t be a coincidence. But I really hope their encounter were random. As for the smug omegas, What a disgusting lot.

    Thanks for the chapter!

  7. Yoooo the shy alpha, you got a bit of my approval hehe – 30pts. T hat dimple boy is quite shady – earned suspicion 40pts

I really like this story. Sometimes I can even learn new English words ahaha. Thank you so much~

  8. I’m surprised they let alphas casually mix with the omegas at this age. Isn’t it getting close to when the omegas will get their heat and the alphas their rut?

I’m so glad he is changing his life this time around!

    • That’s a good question! So, Cora Finishing-School, which Omega’s attend from 13-16 is pretty much in preparation of them getting that ‘heat’. But they don’t actually get it until they’re 16. Which is why Nova G.B are being sneaky and waiting until they’re in Cora to make plans/ wedding arrangements etc. [ Weddings which can’t legally happen until they’re a minimum of 18 y/o. Anything younger is just.. no lol. ]

As for Alphas being there, you’re right! They’re not allowed because of their early development. But Blondie Alpha is 3 / 4 years older than Caius and the others. The other young-ish Alpha is also older.

Hope this makes sense, and feel free to ask anything if you don’t understand (outside of Q’s I cannot answer in fear of spoiling things) 😉

  9. This story is simply too well writen, its amazong, youre doing an amazing job, im loving it and it really makes me keep wondering whats gonna happen next! The whole mistery and caius poetic views on the scenery is really engaging! Hope caius can keep his peaceful life some more years at least

  10. Oof…poor flower…

Oh No! I caught up! Oh well, I’m looking forward to the next chapter~

    Is this a slowburn romance?

    Thanks for the chapter~

Just a trivial fact but I just finished reading an novel (not BL😭) which had a BE… so this novel was a nice refresher haha~

  11. Woah this is so good. I enjoyed every bit of it ahhh. I wonder how important Rowan and that mysterious stranger may be.

Thank you for this lovely story and I can’t wait for more.

  12. Ahhh these kids are gonna get it one day grumbles. I love that the rose was more acceptable for him! Honestly this chapter made me anxious in some parts but that scene ramped it doen~ so lovely!

The world building is beautiful! There’s so much to learn and I love how you naturally introduce things to the reader!

    Thank you for the chapter!!!!

  13. i don’t know why i had to read it thrice to understand the whole chap, but I still didn’t get it all, but the gist of it is fine.

  14. This entire chapter had me by the ends of my hair with anxiety – poor babe tossed around and disoriented, kind of wish the adults didn’t leave him inside for so long. Blondie’s a bit iffy, but tall, dark and handsome in the blue uniform could totally get it ;DD

  15. Interesting. It looks like Nova government (blonde/gold) and Flying bird (Black/blue) both sent young Alphas to court our precious artist. I like the symbolism that under the influence of the blonde alpha, he chose the gold rose. While under the influence of the other alpha, he chose the white rose (which is more like himself.)
