Translator's Note

龙一 – Long yi, instead of a name, this seems more like a designation. An equivalent would be like the American’s use of “Eagle One” and “Eagle Two”. Seems appropriate for a personal guard.

Translator's Note

十丈 – Shi zhang. One 丈 is about 3.3 meters, so roughly thirty meters.

Translator's Note

奇经八脉 – Ji jing ba mai, the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. Formed at birth, they function as deep reservoirs from which the Twelve Principle Meridians can be replenished.

Translator's Note

十二正经 – Shi er zheng jing, the Twelve Principle Meridians. The meridians responsible for the bulk flow of qi through the body. For an overview of Gongyi Tianheng’s dilemma, when he was born he had weak meridians. As he grew up, with each passing year, his meridians would be blocked one by one. Starting from the peripheral eight extraordinary meridians, there were no signs of illness. He would be eight years old at this time. However, once the blockages began appearing in the twelve principle meridians, his body would be greatly affected. Thus at ten years old, two principle meridians were blocked (likely corresponding to his legs, since they were paralyzed). Therefore, he is eighteen years old now and he has two principle meridians left. Once he turns twenty, all his meridians will be blocked and he will die.

Translator's Note

及冠 – Ji guan, traditionally, a coming of age ceremony for a man who is twenty years old.

Translator's Note

抱大腿 – Bao da tui, literally to hug a big thigh. A metaphor for clinging to someone influential or famous to curry favor.

  1. I like Human-Level!

Things are looking up for our gong. His ambitions are high. Mm so excited!

lol I got so use to reading those guards names as Long Yi and Long Er, and so forth cause he has a lot of them, in the raw that it sounds so weird seeing it as Dragon One instead xD

But hands down… aside from our two main CP, Long Er(Dragon Two) is my favorite character so far. <3 Can't wait for him to show up. ;3

  2. New chapter, huzzah!! GZ, you're not giving the readers any illusion of your orientation when your inner monologue keeps waxing poetic about a guy. XD

My vote is for "Mortal Level", since that sounds more…xianxia-y. Otherwise, Human-level is fine too.

Also, I would suggest going with "loyal hound" instead of "loyal dog" when GZ was initially describing Dragon One. Calling someone "dog" is a derogatory term in both English and Chinese, and he's not looking down on D1 here.

Also, also, the line "Truly, it was about all he could endure" I would suggest instead to be "Truly he is able to endure". The original line makes it sound like GYTH is at the end of his endurance. But actually, GZ here is expressing his admiration that GYTH is able to endure the chronic pain of acting like a normal person.

  3. < i tried to mtl this but i got confused a bit. But now there's someone continuing to translate it… Thank you!
    (:з」∠)_

  4. I like that guard! Haha. His assessment of the MC as weak chicken was indeed quite insightful. nods vigorously

  5. Wow, this ZouZou is extremely trusting, like to a shocking degree. It’s only been 8 chapters and he’s revealed his secret already.

  6. Gosh I suddenly feel like crying. The feeling of being able to see the rainbow after being told that I am gonna die in 2 years is too much
