    There was even an indistinct…spiritual wisdom? –> There was an indistinct…sapience? (灵智 is usually the term comparing non-sentient critters to becoming human-like aware)

    Moreover, in that indistinct consciousness, he detected the meaning of a request. –> he detected a hint of pleading.

    • Not trying to offend or anything but, I kind of feel like sentience might be a closer word to what you’re looking for than sapience? Or I could be completely wrong, in which case, please ignore me, oh great Charysa!

        As for your question, this term was first introduced back in Chapter 254. For clarification, a sentient being has consciousness, a capacity for sensation, and a subjective experience. A sapient being has all this and a higher level of cognition and intelligence. Thus, most animals are sentient, but humans are sapient.

          P.S. Ehehe just between us (and anyone else bothering to read this ridiculously long (?) comment thread, you were the reason I found CG and I’ve been stuck in this CG Pit since then 😉 So on top of IHM, you’re also responsible for the 50++ novels I’ve read in the past, I dunno, years?
