  1. “It looks like I still underestimated that Gongyi Tianheng.”

Hohohohoho, indeed 😂😂😂. I’m really looking forward to whatever twisty scheme Lu Jiusi comes up with next, haha. It’s fun when the villains are smart despite their other shortcomings, the final face-slapping is always more satisfying then 😏

    Thanks for the chapter (/^▽^)/

  2. Yep you have! Now wait patiently to get killed. ^_^

Thank you so much for the chapter!(๑´>᎑<)~❤

  3. I find all this plotting very fun~

It’s not like they can win against Tianheng’s protagonist halo anyway haha~Thanks for the chapter ~🌸

  4. It is at this point, if he was a smart and less villainous man (as opposed to one just driven by profit), that he might step back and reassess his opponent. If you can’t pull Gu Zuo away from Tianheng as easily you thought you could in the beginning, why not an alliance? Tianheng is obviously an asset at this point. He knows people in the Judicial branch, has befriended your “friends” and has a talented pharmacist that is very generous with his resources towards friends.

But he’s stuck on possessing Gu Zuo. I’d say it’s a sunken cost fallacy on his part, but he hasn’t actually put too much effort into it besides thought.

Of course, as readers we know our lovely duo wouldn’t ever fully trust him at this point, but that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be some sort of mutual benefit.

    • He can be thought of as a smart villain, LJS only problem is, in his own way, he’s just as narrow minded as the stupid pharmacist.

  5. You know what I admire about this novel? The open and above board plot armor. It’s to the point that when plot armor doesn’t happen the story would feel wrong. It’s like when people openly and righteously use nepotism to promote a relative that has actual talent, everyone knows what happened but since the relative is great at the job no one cares. In this novel it’s set up so Tinheng has this tiandu body, so now that he’s survived his calamity heaven defying luck is on his side, except I don’t mind because the luck is requisite that Tianheng actually goes out and works for it. Open and above board plot armor is so refreshing 10/10
    • I think Tianheng’s luck could be classified as ‘Bad Luck turns good’.It’s not like Zhang something that has stupid luck, his luck comes from bad things happening

  6. underestimate him all you want. underestimate you, underestimate your family, underestimate 13 family generations! never been so happy for plot armor and protagonists (MLs) golden halo

  7. Tianheng saw that Gu Zuo was puzzled, and said to him: “We’ll fine out once we go.” 🤔

“we’ll find out once we go.”

  8. It’s our protagonists’ lot in life to always get underestimated. It’s a part of their luck. XD

    Translation notes:

Only once he broke through to the Immortal Realm and his identity changed would he be able to truly occupy it. — Probably want “status”, “rank”, or “role” instead of “identity”

This matter would regularly occur. –> That person would be a regular hand at this kind of job.

As a result, these people let it be. Later on, Gu Zuo came along;a person whose potential was stronger than Sun Lang’s. –> Even aside from these people, there came along Gu Zuo, a person whose potential…

However, if they were keeping a low-profile, that wasn’t playing pretend. That was a true pig! –> However, just because they were playing dumb, doesn’t mean they were really dumb!

  9. I remember having had this suspicion in an earlier chapter previously…

When MC took his assessment, the person who antagonized him back then was Chen Sheng, a 24 years old pharmacist. (Ch. 132-134, for those interested in it)

Now that person obviously got replaced by Sun Lang…

From my point of view, the author most probably forgot about having named that person before.

    • I may need to re-read this section of the novel because I also have forgotten… Though, while I think the name Sun Lang has appeared previously, Chen Sheng does seem to have disappeared?

      • Since I’m re-reading all those chapters, I can explain it to you. It’s like this:

In Ch. 134 the person Chen Sheng appeared for the first (and last) time. Namely during the assessment of MC. It was clearly stated he was a 24 years old pharmacist with talent, who didn’t like Xu Lingxiu and became especially jealous of MC’s evaluation. Seeing our “country pumpkin” receive praises by Elder Huo, he started to resent MC and refused to “let a youngster step over his head”.

Well, after that in Ch. 153 Sun Lang appeared for the first time and it was said, “if MC was here, he would recognize both people (Sun Lang as well as Lu Jiusi)”, meaning he had met Sun Lang previously. Sun Lang then accused MC in front of Lu Jiusi about his “misbehavior” during the assessment etc. And it was again pointed out, that Sun Lang resented MC and his talent/luck and also disliked Xu Lingxiu.

I’ve even asked you about the spelling of both names in the comment section of Ch. 153 which are entirely different.

So just based on this we have the following situation: Chen Sheng appeared for one chapter and was introduced as a minor cannon fodder villain. Then he vanished into nothingness (he wasn’t mentioned again until Ch. 267, which is where I currently stopped reading for stockpiling chapters, 267 is the first chapter of Arc 4, the ending of the Qingyun-sect arc). Instead a minor cannon fodder villain named Sun Lang appeared and took Chen Sheng’s place.

This leads to my conclusion: The author either forgot about the whole incident in Ch. 153, or couldn’t remember Chen Sheng’s name anymore and therefore replaced the name with “Sun Lang”.
