High School RewindCh20 - Terror

Seth didn’t expect that he would enjoy the experience of studying with his classmates so much. There were eight students in the group including Seth and Gil. The group ended up having their study session at the school library.

In his previous life, Seth as a loner would never even dare think that he could get along with his classmates. All he experienced during his previous life was failure, embarrassment, and painful memories. But now, Seth could talk, laugh, and even help his classmates to study. It was a great development considering Seth didn’t force his classmates to do anything for him; they just naturally gravitated toward him and asked for his assistance. z64xg

Of course, Gil was also with them. Though, he would just help from time to time. Gil was too busy from either reading a book or writing something on his notebook. Seth would ask Gil about some questions and the latter would happily oblige. But Gil would ignore questions from their other classmates. As if there was no one inside the library besides Seth and Gil. Well, their classmates didn’t mind Gil’s actions toward them. They already knew about his aloof personality.

Seth let Gil do his own thing. As long as they were together inside the same room, everything was okay. Gil could read every book that he wanted or write whatever he was writing on his notebook. Gil was sitting a little far away from them. Seth focused on his task of helping his classmates study.

“Hey, Seth…” It was Paul who said that. He was sitting beside Seth. “I just want to say that I am sorry again I ignored you since we’re first years. I didn’t know you’re this kind of person.”

Seth was a little taken aback with what he heard from Paul. It was so out of the blue. “It’s all right. I used to think of my classmates as douchebags, too. But now that we’ve talked to each other, I realized you, guys are pretty okay.” MvkO5P

“Ah, we’ve treated you so bad.” Paul shook his head. “We let Chuck bully you. Again, we’re very sorry, Seth.”

“I told you, it’s fine. You already said you’re sorry multiple times. I don’t have anything against you. We’re good.” Seth smiled at his classmates. “By the way, what do you mean by I’m this kind of person? Please elaborate.”

Paul scratched his head. His face was red. “I mean, we thought you’re a loner. An easy target for Chuck to bully. We laughed at you because you looked pitiful. But you proved us wrong. You are a good person. You know how to fight back against your bully now. You’re very admirable. You are—”

“Just stop spouting those flowery words.” Gil interjected. His gaze remained on his book. “Seth does not need them. The fact that you’ve treated him badly for years and when he did manage to take courage and fought back to his bully, you immediately forgot that you also contributed with his bullying by ignoring him for a long time. When Seth won an award, you shamelessly approached him to help you study. You said sorry multiple times as if it would erase everything that you’ve done. You and me, we failed Seth when he needed our help the most. So, shut up with your nonsense. Just accept Seth’s help and don’t try to get on his good side. When Seth said that he used to think of you guys as douchebags—well, I still think you all are. Approaching Seth with your shallow apologies is still a douche move, in my opinion.”

The library was a place where silence was expected. But after what Gil said, the library was enveloped with dead silence as if it was a freaking cemetery. Gil just continued reading his book. Seth sighed. He understood where Gil was coming from.

“Okay, enough of this.” Seth announced. “Don’t worry, everything’s fine with me. You don’t need to apologize over and over again. Let’s just study, okay?”

Paul and the other classmates were looking down.

“Gil, it’s really okay.” Seth told his boyfriend. “I am enjoying this study session so far. Can you tell our classmates that you’re okay with it, too? Please.” Kkf567

From his book, Gil turned his gaze to Seth. He was looking intently at him. “Are you sure?”

Seth nodded his head. “Yes.”

It was Gil’s turn to sigh. “Okay. If you’re happy, so be it.” Gil cleared his throat. “It’s your win, boys. From now on, treat Seth with the respect he rightfully deserves. Or else—”

Seth let out a cough. Then, he nodded to Gil. BhYIK1

“Okay, I rest my case.” Gil looked exhausted.

The study session continued. Paul didn’t say anything about their personal lives and went on asking questions regarding the coverage lessons for the upcoming midterm exams. The mood was very awkward at first, but eventually, everyone eased up.

“You’re too close, asshat.” Gil told Paul. xIgHW9

Paul looked scared. “I…I am s-sorry.”

“It’s okay—” Before Seth could finish his sentence, Gil dragged Paul entirely away from him and made him stood up.

“Your teacher’s going to be me.” Gil announced to Paul. “I don’t want you getting close to Seth ever again.”

Paul was panicking. “But—but—you’re not—” Cv6ysV

“Gil is my tutor.” Seth informed his classmates. “I got good grades because of Gil. You’re lucky, Paul. Gil decided to tutor you.”

Paul was planning to run away. “No! I am scared of him!”

Gil caught the bastard in time. “Just relax. You’re safe with me.” A huge grin was formed on his lips.

Paul resigned to his fate. He sat down with Gil and accepted everything obediently. fOBARI

Two hours went by easily. Their classmates said their thanks and goodbye to Seth and Gil. Paul looked exhausted. He didn’t even look Gil in the eye.

“Don’t be too harsh on Paul.” Seth told Gil. “Let’s help them wholeheartedly, okay?”

“You’re too nice.” Gil let out a sigh. “I don’t like it when Paul is being too close to you.”

“So, you took him away from me because you’re jealous?” Seth was smiling from ear to ear. kxC K1

“Of course, I am jealous. I’m your boyfriend!”

Seth hooked an arm on Gil’s. “It’s pretty surprising that you didn’t tell Paul that we’re boyfriends.”

“I was about to. I saw how close he was with you. I wanted to scream to that fucker to stay away from you. That you already have a boyfriend. But, I realized I should control myself regarding our relationship.”

Seth raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by that?” 6aNdbU

“I want to tell everyone about our relationship, but I don’t know if you’ll like it. I don’t have your consent regarding the issue. I may act like a brute, but when it comes to you, I want to have your approval first.”

“You’re so sweet.” Seth hugged his boyfriend. “To tell you the truth, I don’t really care if everyone from this school knows about our relationship. However, I don’t want everybody’s attention to focus on us. So, therefore, let’s just be discreet with our relationship in front of other people. Is that all right with you, Gil?”

“Of course. Let’s do that, Seth.”

The study sessions went on without any hitch for three days. Seth, Gil and his classmates were still using the library after class. However, on the fourth day, a sign on the library’s door halted their study session for that day. The sign read as follows: K1ClMf

“Students are prohibited to stay at the library after class. Study and do your assignments at home. Signed by: The Student Council.”

Seth didn’t think of anything about it. He thought of a place where they can still study as group. Seth tried their classroom. The group was successful in continuing their session. However, the next morning, there was a sign on the announcement board that students are not allowed to stay in their classroom after class. It was also a directive from the student council.

But Seth didn’t let it get through him. The group went on to study at the cafeteria, in the auditorium, even on the school roof top. However, their effort was always cut short because the student council would issue directives regarding the usage of school facilities after class. In short, the group had no place to study in school after class.

“What is happening?” Paul asked. “What kind of school prohibits its students to study in their own free time?” hZFxCl

“It’s a school with an asshole of a student council president.” Gil uttered nonchalantly. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle this.”

Seth held Gil’s arm. “Hey, what are you going to do?”

“Don’t worry. I won’t be violent. I’ll just pay Simon a visit. I think he misses me.”

“Gil…” dIhVF5

Seth took a deep breath. “Don’t hurt yourself, okay?”

Gil touched his hair. “I am not the one you should be worried about.”

Simon was on his bed, listening to some music, when he suddenly burst out laughing. He just had received a text message from one of the members of the student council informing Simon that his plan to hinder Seth’s group study sessions was successful. Because of Simon’s constant meddling, the group had to stop staying after class. 64g8LG

Simon felt the sweetness of his victory. He leapt from the bed and was about to call out the maid to get him some snacks, when he heard a loud bang outside and the door to his room fell off the hinges.

“What the—?” Simon gasped.

“Oh, I was hoping you got squashed by the door. Too bad.”

“Gilbert!” Simon’s voice was filled with horror. “What did you do?” IuUh 5

“I kicked your door, can’t you tell?”

“Why?” Simon calmed down a bit. “Why would you do something like that?”

“Because you ruined our study group. I just want to study with my friends but you, as the student council president, made it difficult for us by closing all the school facilities that serve as our group’s meeting place. You’re horrible, Simon.”

Simon felt chills all over his body. Gilbert’s facial expression did not match the words that coming out from his mouth. Gilbert looked scary, but the tone of his voice sounded betrayed. IAHb8a

“What are you talking about? Please speak clearly.”

Gil’s voice sounded miserable. “I just want to study again. You know, to go back to the person I was once before. But you keep on ruining it, Simon. I just want to be in my father’s good side again. So, please, I am begging you, stop meddling with my business.”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Simon was confused. Gilbert was spouting nonsense! Why was he talking like that? As if he was a different person!

“You want to study again? Don’t make me laugh! Is this because of that dumb Seth Wiley?” xeJEN4

“Don’t talk about Seth like that.” Gilbert’s voice became terrifying. “I don’t want to hear his name coming out of your filthy mouth.”

Simon was taken aback. His knees were starting to get weak. Though, his pride still wanted to get even. “Hah! What’s good about that idiot? He—”

Gilbert suddenly kicked his leg. “Are you saying that you will keep on hindering us if we continue the study group?”

“Of course!” Simon grinned. It was a good feeling knowing that he had the power over Gilbert in that moment. He even begged him to stop, right? Why should he be afraid of this guy? 9ilBZY

“You heard him, Mr. Charles. Please inform my father about this.”

Simon got wide-eyed when he finally noticed the man standing in the shadows. It was Senator Hugo’s secretary—Mr. Charles.

“Yes, young master. You father will hear about this.” Mr. Charles said in a serious tone. Then, he disappeared in a blink of an eye.

“Whoa! That guy must be batman!” Gilbert commented. R1gws0

“You—!” Simon was breathing heavily. Gilbert set him up! He made Simon looked like the villain in Mr. Charles’s eyes. In the heat of the moment, Simon lunged toward Gilbert.

But before he could do anything, Gilbert grabbed his arm and twisted it all the way to his back. Gilbert’s other hand grabbed Simon’s hair and pinned his face on the bed. It became harder for Simon to breathe. But it was not the worst thing yet.

Simon felt Gilbert’s breathe into his ear and with the most terrifying voice he said: “No matter what you do, you’ll always be the little bitch in this family. The only power you have is your imagination. Careful, little bitch. Give my regards to dad.” Gilbert let go of him.

Simon quickly gasped for air. He wanted to say something to Gilbert but the latter was already out of his room. However, Simon didn’t have the time to think of Gilbert because Senator Hugo appeared and had a stern expression on his face. 4GJBco

Simon felt terror. He knew he fucked up.

  1. Awesome! I want to celebrate Gilbert’s takedown of Simon but I have a feeling Simon will try to do more. Thanks for the chapter.
