Translator's Note

Casually stealing this t/n from beloved dee’s Scum Shou Survival Guide Chapter 87 t/n :blobrofl: 8hlz0S

The seven emotions: joy, anger, anxiety, thought, grief, fear, and fright. Evan kindly found a site with more info on it here.

The six desires arise from the six senses: eyes (to see beautiful things), nose (to smell pleasant fragrances), tongue (to taste delicious food), ears (to hear harmonious sound and speech), body (to feel pleasure), and mind (to desire love, success, and beauty). Also more info here found by Evan.

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

For those people who actually thought I stole dee’s tn, disclaimer: I did ask for permission, I’m just joking around and dee gave me permission to use her t/n for it. So please don’t be alarmed lol.

Translator's Note

baobao: more along the lines of, he’s supposed to be single-mindedly cultivating when meditating, but Ye Cang keeps popping up in his mind and technically almost lead to him (qi deviating)

Translator's Note

This word wasn’t in the raws but it was needed since it’s an immortal war

Translator's Note

Evan: AKA denial
Cat:

Translator's Note

Cat: lmao god my dirty mind, it just sounds so dirty!
baobao:lololol

Translator's Note

得天独厚 dé tiān dú hòu – blessed by heaven is an idiom that can either mean enjoying exceptional advantages or favored by nature

Translator's Note

本君 – Disclaimer: First I apologise if I’m wrong about what this term means, I am just grabbing from context, so if anyone who actually knows what this term means please do type it down in the comments and I will change it and give credit!

The ‘ben’ used here can mean all sorts of things such as: roots or stems of plants and so on. Whilst the ‘jun’ can mean monarch; lord; gentleman; ruler. So in this case, from context Ye Cang is calling himself, “lord” or “gentleman” again going from context but I could be wrong, so sorry if I am!

Translator's Note

baobao: one gently and intimately bearing it, another powerfully attacking. in case it doesn’t make sense, it means gu bai accepting it while ye cang is attacking

Translator's Note

水到渠成 shuǐ dào qú chéng – lit. where water flows, a canal is formed (idiom), fig. when conditions are right, success will follow naturally

Translator's Note

baobao: slightly looser tl, but it could either mean ‘So how about being together with me?” or “Look at how nice it is to be dating me, right?

  1. This is so bittersweet, their love is so cute but alas, knowing what happens…..they are bound to be separated….How Romeo and Juliet like lol

    Thanks for the chapter~♡♡♡

  2. We’re almost there!

I don’t speak or read chinese at all, but in other translations I found the “prefix” Ben coupled with -zun -jun -wang, and from other translators’ notes I got that it’s a very dominant, very haughty way to address oneself. It’s used when a character with a high social standing, like an emperor, or prince, or king, wants to assert his own power over other lesser people. I’m sure someone else can give a better literal translation, but this should be the general gist.

Thanks for all the hard work!

  3. From what I know from other novels, Ben wang is commonly used as “This prince”, while as Ben Jun depends on the original chinese word. I’ve seen it being translated as “this lord” but in other cases, “Jun” was also used for a prince, so I’m not sure about it. But in Arc 2? or 3?, the time after the imperial arc, ML stood in the starry sky and said “Ben Wang”, if I’m not mistaken. So ….

In fact from my point of view it is rather surprising, Ye Cang was only a war god and not a king/prince/emperor (at that time)

  4. I’m not a native speaker but take my heritage speaker knowledge…! As I understand it, Ben Jun is basically “this lord” or “this gentlemen” (referring to himself) yup. 君 (jun) is the same, I’m assuming, from 君子, which generally means a “nobleman” or “a person of noble character.” 本 in this case is used self-referentially (going with the “origin/source” definition). For example: a 本楼 dish at a restaurant would be the house dish/house special. 本人 is I/me/myself/oneself. 本文 is “this text.” 本地 is “local/this locality.” So on and so forth—anyway, you get the idea.

Thanks for the chapter! It’s a little odd to see Gu Bai so…pure! I’ve gotten used to him playing everyone for suckers lolololol

  5. Ahhh its so cute. My heart. Yeah now I understand why Ye Cang was surprised when he learnt Bai Gu and Gu Bai were the same person at the beginning. This Bai Gu’s emotion overflow like water, while Gu Bai was heartless at the start of the novel.

Thank you so much for this update❤️

  6. Thank you to both the editors and translator for working so hard and blessing us with this wonderful chapter❤

  7. He found that he seemed to have been poisoned. Every day Ye Cang would always appear in his mind.

How cute 😆. To think this cute Gu Bai and that passionate Ye Cang had to endure three thousands years of separation 😢. I wonder if Ye Cang finding the soul of Gu Bai to do the task is part of Gu Bai’s chess move to? This cinnamon is quite scary in strategic battle~

  8. Well… that’s amazing!!

Thank you for the chapter, dear Cat, Evan and Baobao!!! Have a great day!! (Or night, whichever one!!)

  9. aaaAaa learning about their backstory makes my heart clench

also saw the TL/N about 本君 and yeah Ye Cang is essentially calling himself “this Lord”

  10. Bro, the rush of endorphins I got by reading this chapter is hanpanai!! Gubai has always been Baigu, always acting all shy, clingy, lovely with the ML!! And Ye Cang, he’s just so shameless!! But I love it! Just get married and be dao companions!!
