Green Plum IslandCh36 - Too Stimulating

I instinctively bring a hand up against Yan Kongshan’s chest, which seems to make him think I’m trying to push him away. His large hand grabs onto my fingertips, and, as our kiss deepens, his grip tightens.

Considering I just told him this morning that I found his kisses satisfying and that he could kiss me however he wanted with however much force he wanted, so if I push him away after all that, it would make me seem flaky and not a man of my word. uKvUqN

Not to mention, even though losing oxygen towards the end of a kiss isn’t the greatest feeling, I still like it when he kisses me. The feeling of adrenaline surging through my body, heating it up, rendering it numb, making me feel like I’m floating in the clouds; it’s a great feeling.

At first, I think that today is going to be like yesterday, that the kiss will end when I can’t breathe anymore and I’m nothing but a puddle of brain mush. But Yan Kongshan switches things up against my expectation. He lets go of my lips, and showers kisses onto my neck.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

The kisses drift from my earlobe to the indentations of my collarbones, fizzling with electricity. Each kiss he lands makes me shudder. He continues downwards, then quickly becomes obstructed by the neckline of my t-shirt. Dissatisfied, he nips me on the shoulder. The unexpected action makes me shiver and I let out a startled yelp. I never knew that it was possible to feel such dizzying, breathtaking sensations even without something covering my mouth.

Before I realise it, I’m lying flat against the plush rug. Times like these magnify Yan Kongshan’s supreme body; as soon as he presses on top of me, he looms overhead like a mountain blocking the sun and the sky, caging my entire body beneath his. xdL3Zw

And I become somewhat like an antelope in the throes of death. The predator holds me down, but doesn’t go in for the kill. Instead, he takes a bite here, a bit there, as if taking pleasure in the uncontrollable quaking of my body, in my last struggle before my inevitable death.

This is a lot more frightful than yesterday was…

As I’m thinking this, Yan Kongshan nips my Adam’s apple, as if he’s decided to devour me from there. I do notice, however, that his mood index is indeed nowhere to be seen. If tomorrow it shows up again around the same time, then I think it’s safe to conclude that kissing does temporary get rid of it. Which leads me to wonder, if kissing gets rid of it for 24 hours, would a more intimate action make it disappear for longer? Is there a way to make it disappear forever?

I suddenly feel a dry finger stroking my lower lip. Yan Kongshan has straightened back up and is staring at me, not looking very amused. “What are you looking at?”

DVvgxy

It feels like being reprimanded by the class representative at school after being caught using my phone. A tremor runs through me, and I reply apprehensively, “N-Nothing much…”

The wetness of my mouth makes contact with his finger when I speak. He makes a face, seeming to not like this feeling. His eyes darken and he moves his hand, props it on the floor. “Are you afraid now?”

I shake my head silently.

He lifts his hand back up and brushes the back of it from my neck down to where it meets my shoulder. When his nails scrape across the area, there’s a prickle of pain. I don’t remember whether he bit me there or not. If so, it probably left an impression. mLOdhN

“You’re shaking,” Yan Kongshan observes like a detective, not overlooking the tiniest detail, as if his sole motive is to expose me for fibbing. “If you’re not afraid, why are you shaking?”

“It’s not fear.” I hold his hand still, thumb brushing lightly over the back of his hand. “It tickles.”

Or maybe there’s a bit of fear in there. I really am afraid he’ll devour me. Just his eyes makes me think he wants to rip out my bones one by one and savour me from top to bottom. If he wasn’t Yan Kongshan, I’d be terrified enough to want to flee, but he is Yan Kongshan, so I don’t.

He stares at me for a long time and then suddenly straightens up and detaches himself from my body entirely. lagQZw

“It’s late, you should go back to sleep.”

It’s over?

All at once, a flush spreads through the entire upper half of my body. Had he realised? c7jvJB

I sneak a glance over at him. Apparently, he’s not doing any better than me.

When it comes to men, sometimes Sun Rui’s radar isn’t that accurate. But when it comes to their nether regions, it sure is right on point.

It’s certainly quite a size…

“Watch where you’re looking.” oOrqcz

I start and look up at Yan Kongshan. He appears to have no intention of even remotely hiding his biological reaction and sits calmly with his legs crossed, as if he’s waiting for it to go away naturally, which makes me feel inferior in contrast.

I scratch my nose. “Um, I wanted to tell you, a-about the wind chime, I broke it. I’m sorry, I’ll buy you a replacement.”

“No need.”

Startled, I stare at him. “Huh?” PMd6na

He picks up the television remote from the ground and presses the buttons self-assuredly, as if no one else is around him. A variety programme plays on the TV screen.

“I said, there’s no need.” All his attention is on the television; the nonchalant manner with which he replies makes it seem like he doesn’t care about what happened to the wind chime at all.

I watch him carefully, making certain that he truly doesn’t care, not leaving until I’m absolutely sure.

I hum a melody on my way home, and once there, catch Grandpa heading up the stairs with his tea mug in hand, getting ready for bed after having finished his TV episode. v3maiH

He calls out as he sees me, then suddenly, his eyes land on the hickey on my neck and he lets out a quiet “aiyou“.

“Mian Mian, what happened to your neck? Did you get bitten by something? Why is it so red?

Immediately, I slap a hand over my neck, so nervous that the all my hairs rise in alarm. “I don’t know, m-maybe it was an evil mosquito.”

“That’s one toxic mosquito,” Grandpa replies, not doubting my words one bit. “There’s tiger balm on the coffee table, be sure to put some on.” pFzekt

“I got it,” I reply, nodding quickly in succession with my hand still covering my neck. “Grandpa, you should go to bed.”

He mumbles something about spraying mosquito repellent in the yard tomorrow and makes his way up the stairs. I don’t put my hand down until I see that he’s gone, after which, I charge straight into the bathroom to inspect it for myself.

A dark, red hickey bruises the skin where my neck and shoulder meets, indistinct teeth marks just slightly visible. It doesn’t seem like it will go away in a couple days.

Good thing Grandpa is elderly, doesn’t have such good eyesight, and is fairly simpleminded. Otherwise this alluring romance drama would soon transform into a family drama. xILmXt

The next morning when I get out of bed, I check on the hickey again. The teeth marks are no longer visible, but it’s still red. I found a bandage and cover it up. As long as I don’t pull my shirt collar down, it shouldn’t be too noticeable.

In the car, Yan Kongshan doesn’t notice — or pretends not to notice — the bandage on my neck. There seems to be two sides to him; burning with passion at night, and cool and polite in the daytime. Even the casual conversation he used to make lessens.

Geez, I kiss him, then can’t see his mood index, but if I don’t kiss him, I want to kiss him. Why is life so hard?

During the rainstopping ceremony, there were foreign documentary makers present filming the whole thing, and when they were leaving, one of the photographers conversed quite extensively with Yan Kongshan; he’d said that he would send Yan Kongshan a little gift in the mail in the future.

It was just talk, but then one day, the parcel actually arrives. From it, Yan Kongshan retrieves a photo mounted on a wooden frame, his expression stunned. The frame is made of walnut wood, garnished with simple, gold lines, giving it a sense of texture. I lean in curiously, wanting to see what it’s a photo of, and freeze when I peer down.

It’s a photo of me and Yan Kongshan on the day of the rainstopping ceremony; the two of us perched on the sedan chair, me with the circular fan hiding my face, him with a mask over his, holding the umbrella upright. The camera is focused on the two of us, the crowds of people surrounding us completely blurred. We sit at the very centre of the frame — it’s an ideal shot that perhaps only a filmmaker could have captured.

“Looks a lot like a wedding photo.” JFUkAT

With a jolt, I wonder if I accidentally said what I was thinking out loud. But then I come to my senses and realise that the comment came from Xiao Tian.

“That’s the boss?” He recognises Yan Kongshan immediately, then points to me in the photograph. “Who is this? Which family’s girl is so pretty? Boss, did she move your heart?”

Having never experienced the ceremony himself, Xiao Tian isn’t aware that the “girl” isn’t necessarily a girl.

“That’s me,” I say, pointing at myself. 1Rdkj6

Xiao Tian is so shocked that he looks like he’s questioning his faith in human beings.

“Teacher Xiao, allow me to fill you in on this piece of history.” I tell him about the rainstopping ceremony, and also about can’t resist gossiping a little about what happened to the last sky maiden.

Eventually, Yan Kongshan hangs the photo on a wall in the bookstore — not a particularly eye-catching wall, but one that’s adjacent to the “Folklore” shelf. Patrons interested in folklore might find it appealing; they’re welcome to scrutinise the photo all they want.

Usually when there aren’t a lot of visitors in the store, we eat lunch together, but if it’s crowded, we eat in shifts. Today happens to be a slightly busier day, so while Xiao Tian manages the floor, Yan Kongshan and I head to the break room to catch a bite to eat. fU6BTc

As we’re just about finishing up our meal, my phone suddenly rings. There’s no caller ID on the screen.

“Hello?”

“Yu Mian, it’s me.”

It’s Luo Feilang, randomly calling me at this time after a period of silence. I dart a look at Yan Kongshan, then swivel around so my back is facing him. “What is it?” I whisper into the receiver. M3FjJW

“Sunday there’s a music festival on the beach, wanna come?” he asks in his cheery voice.

I don’t even have to think about it before responding, “I’m not into music, so probably not.”

“You’re not leaving me any ounce of hope, huh?” he lowers his voice dramatically, continuing, “I actually really like you.”

“No thanks. Next Sunday my dad’s visiting, so I won’t be free.” ldyQp6

He seems to think I’m making up excuses. “Your dad? Never mind then, another time.” Just before I can hang up, he suddenly adds in a cajoling tone, “By the way, do you have Yan Kongshan’s number–”

I cut him off, pressing the “end call” button, then put his number on my block list.

“Was that Luo Feilang?” Yan Kongshan asks from behind me, his voice raising goosebumps on my skin. “You still talk to him?”

I have no idea why I feel guilty, but I do. I feel sort of like a husband whose wife has caught talking to his mistress or something. It’s a frightening, hair-raising feeling — way too stimulating. DbzWtn

“No, it was Sun Rui.”

Yan Kongshan stands up, tidying up his finished food. “Sounded like a man to me,” he comments indifferently.

“She…,” I mull my mind for the right words. “She has a cold.”

He raises a brow, watching me amusedly. “A cold? In this weather?” C84 dO

“Too much air-con, I guess.” I flash him a bright smile.

His gaze travels downwards, landing on my clavicle. “Are you hurt?”

I touch my neck, feeling the surface of the bandage that’s sticking out. Slightly embarrased, I reply, “No, but…”

“So why the bandage then?” He lifts a hand and brings it deliberately towards me, brushing past the side of my face, until he accomplishes his goal: ripping off the bandage. “Oh, I see.” He only seems to occur to him now that beneath the bandage is the mark he left on me last night. “I’m sorry, I went a little overboard yesterday night. Are you trying to hide it? I can see if I have anymore bandages in the store.” LB8dxr

For some reason, I think that if I nod, something ominous will happen… not that I can see Yan Kongshan’s mood index, but I still have my own instincts and senses. Or you could say, a “sixth sense.”

“It’s fine,” I say with a dry smile. “I’ll just leave it like this, exposed.”

  1. boners are so embarrassing to me for some reason LOL i squinted and scrolled down quick, only to find out yu mian was ogling. mianmian you rogue!

    thanks for the chapter ♡

  2. Oh god. I keep wishing that Yu Mian will accidentally say the wrong thing that will make Yan Kongshan’s jealousy flare and just gobble Mian up. I want the sexy drama!!! Mian’s danger radar is too good. 😫😫😫😫

  3. YKS you vinegar king lolllll. How suspicious, immediately after the call with luo Feilang he exposes MianMians hickey hmmm hmmm

Also MianMian sensing danger if he asked for a band aid. Kinda want to know what would’ve happened lolll but MianMian is smarter than that.

    Thanks for translating!!

  4. Yan Kongshan should really just date MianMian and make him openly his. I can’t tell where’s the problem??? Why are you so possesive of him and yet you ‘refuse him and don’t want to date him’?! MAKE UP YOUR MIND!! If you don’t, it might be too late

    Thank you for the chapter!💜💜💜

  5. Ngl, I kinda want to see what YKS would do if he said he dint want to cover it up.

Thank you for the chapter <3

  6. Hahaha these two makes me happy.. anyway its also good this way… I really enjoy kongshan’s anger and mian mian’s guilty appearance every time…

    Thanks for the chapter ❤❤

  7. Thanks for your hard work!

I’m as confused as Mianmian. YKS is a hard nut to crack, even after peeling back a bit of the outer layer.

  8. I’m getting annoyed with YKS, haha…A man who doesn’t want to give you a label shouldn’t have a say on who you get involved with. Love truly makes a person a fool huh…

    • Exactly. He acts like a spoiled kid who throws things away but does not want others to have. I’m really fed up with his ambiguity. He says they can’t be together buy he’s not actually doing things to make a clear line. He’s selfish and only thinks of his own emotions.

  9. i have a feeling that yan kongshan deliberately asked about the bandage so he could ripped it off and let it be exposed

  10. So apparently he has high emotional quotient and high empathy. He can sense emotion easily and with his synesthesia it was also express through his sight and in a way that can be interpreted on her own and thus the color and number. That’s why he can’t probably sense YKS love or jealousy
