All that was left after the curtains fell and the audience dispersed was the cooled tea and the person gone. (曲终人散、人走茶凉。) – I tried to represent the meaning and changed certain terms a little. Basically, the whole phrase is lamenting the superficiality of human relations. After the interesting part is over, people will leave, leaving the tea to cool.
This is my interpretation: usually, when offered tea, one is expected to finish the drink to show respect to the person who served it. But in this case, people just left without drinking the tea after seeing the play, which means most people have probably abandoned or chose not to have relations with their family after tragedy unfolds.

Same this side cp is kinda annoying and i imagine that mc and this side cp character is a very good friend of his so the author tried to depict that but it just comes across weird…..its like the side character is in love with mc or some shit idk but i really dont like the side character

Finally someone who said what I was thinking! I didn’t like ah lan’s caracter from the start, nor his cp partner. Couldn’t understand why people said he was cute adorable etc. He was just annoying to me… saying he was actually braver, but still kept clinging to mc all the time. saying he was sick and pitiful compared to mc, yet mc wasn’t even suposed to survive his 10th birthday! Since this book has a sequel with another couple from the story, im guessing it’s them. Def not gonna read that! For now I will settle for just skimming fast through their parts in this story. Love the main cp though^^

I have a strange feeling after reading about “strength” and “courage” of Ah Lan… Like he hadn’t done anything special, he has his magic powers and uses them like some kind of Mary Sue. And his r****t is also very disgusting character. Like, why are you blushing? Why are you so calm while talking to this psycho? What this whole situation is, really, I need some explanations…
