Chapter 42

I swallowed and squeezed out a few nonsensical words and took to my heels. I thought of slipping away but how was I able to escape from the palm of this beast, when his tail had coiled around the lower part of my body, which immediately made me stagger and fall. I didn’t even have the time to scream before a pair of webbed hands grabbed a hold of my arm and my body collided without warning onto a dripping wet chest.  

Just as I raised my head, the tip of his nose touched mine as his head lowered at the same time. Those pupils with gloomy spirit rushing forth pierced through my soul and firmly took control over my mind with his eyes.  6BQXEr

I swore I had almost gotten scared to death looking at him like this face to face.

The reason being that when I stare at him like this, it always makes me imagine myself as a magnetic pole being drawn in by his body’s magnetic presence. 

Whenever I felt his powerful strength up close, I couldn’t help but feel that I had become feminine, that I was a female, and that I was destined to be conquered by his existence. 

This kind of uncontrollable, subconscious perception was simply maddening. 

Instinctively, I shrunk back my neck. Just as I got up and thought about jumping down, I was pulled back by his arms which made me topple and fall over him on top of the rock. As the tips of my toes were unable to touch the ground, I lost my centre of gravity and I had no other option than to throw my entire weight onto Agares’s slippery body. With a quick and agile reaction, I propped myself up so that I wouldn’t be so intimately pressed onto his body. 

However, I had overexerted myself and my waist ached in pain like a drill had pierced through it, but I definitely didn’t want Agares to become aware of that fact, because if he found out, he would definitely use that peculiar method to treat my wounds. Who knows whether or not it will cause unintended consequences. My colleagues are certainly still near here!

I panted erratically, feeling confused and flustered. I faced Agares who was under me in fear, that in the next moment he would do something outrageous. However, he just held my nape and intimately wandered his lips around my cheek. He stared at me for a few seconds before he opened his mouth and whispered, “Desharow.. Why.. want to.. escape? I said…do not be afraid of…me, remember…?” 

He said the words one by one with a mixture of both Russian and English. rDEGb

The sound of his voice was even gentle and soft, though it obviously held the implication of not letting me have a say in it, which made everything sound like an old man making threats and bribes to a child. 

Damn it. It’d be weird if I wasn’t scared. Who knows how much dirty                    water is hidden in your stomach!

While I was lost in my thoughts, perhaps I was too slow to respond to him as Agares showed an impatient expression. He faintly opened his mouth and ran the tip of his scarlet tongue across the upper section of his teeth. “Oh, shit!” I shouted loudly due to the sudden attack. I glared at Agares with shame and resentment and threw a punch to his face, however he stopped my fist and grasped it with his free hand.  Following that, Agares flipped us over which led to me being the one who was pressed down. He proceeded to use his long fingernail and scratch open a large area of my shirt. Drip by drip, the water on his body fell onto my severely erratic chest.  

“You… better not be thinking of doing anything to me here!” As I glared at the black shadow within the backlighting, I could also hear my breathing had become incoherent. My hands trembled as they felt around the rock and came across the dagger tied up in my trousers. I subconsciously grabbed it and, in a panic, I placed the dagger at his neck. “Hey! I’m warning you…” 

I nervously glanced over to my campsite and clenched onto the dagger’s shaft tightly. I held it over what seemed to be his Adam’s apple as a threat. Even though I knew I was just acting, Agares seemed to be more aware of this fact more than me to the point that he even deliberately tilted his head slightly, not only exposing his slender and powerful neck, but also his most vulnerable artery to my blade. 

His webbed hand gently gripped onto my wrist, to seem as though he was trying to thwart my resistance on purpose. Unexpectedly, he extended his tongue and ran down the blade of the dagger. His lips enclosed around my fingers, which gave out unbearable vague sucking noises before he stared at me with a profound smile.  neBTCw

The incident that happened a few nights prior instantly came rushing back before my eyes. As though I had been burnt all over my body from an electric shock, my entire wrist, including my bones, felt like it had been melted into mush by his tongue. Within seconds, my grip on the dagger weakened and it fell into the water. 

Agares took advantage of the situation and restrained my hands at my sides as he lowered his head down and used his teeth to tear away the last few buttons on my top. 

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Damn it! Please don’t be like this!” Feeling embarrassed, I pressed my knee to his shoulder to block him, but both my legs were obstructed by his pliable fishtail and couldn’t close. While struggling, an acute pain radiated from my waist, making me curl up my body like a shrimp. I was then pressed down once again as Agares embraced me. A low voice floated up from my stomach. “Don’t move… Desharow… I’ll heal you.”

The tone of his voice was full of warning, and perhaps it was due to the speed of the sentence which seemed to be quicker due to tension. I swore that it was the first time I had ever heard Agares speak such clear and coherent Russian. The intonation in his tone no longer sounded like a beast, rather it sounded no different than an ordinary human male. KXfUZe

I couldn’t help but be stunned for a moment and look down. My body was then inclined to the side by the webbed claw behind my back, so that my bandaged wound would face him.

I dazedly looked at Agares as he tried to untie my bandages with his webbed claws. His eyebrow furrowed, clearly struggling and feeling impatient with the professionally tied bandage, however, he was still very attentive while doing so. Even so much that he maneuvered around cautiously and solemnly with his fingertips that were as sharp as a blade.

Merfolks were born with their webs being formed by a translucent membrane which made Agares unable to excel in this sort of handicraft. It was as if he was afraid to even graze my wound, looking both serious and awkward, like a primary schooler encountering a difficult advanced Math question.      

At this moment, it was hard not to say that the expression on this evil and ferocious beast indeed appeared funny and somewhat…cute.   gtBr6o

“Ah… I’ll do it by myself.” I was unable to restrain a smile as I held his webbed hands, my mind suddenly feeling relaxed. I clenched my teeth as I tore off the bandages, and it was only then did I realise that my wound had split open. The stitched thread had loosened up from being soaked in the water and from the wound, scarlet blood seeped out.    

Agares immediately took a hold of my hip and brought my waist closer to his mouth. He lowered his head and began lapping on the wound delicately. I had no choice but to turn my back, and slightly stick out my butt in order to match his pace, however being in this posture made me feel incessantly embarrassed, but I didn’t dare to move so I could only cast my head aside to avoid seeing. Just as the pain gradually reduced, I realised that there were beams of flashlight coming from the camp from I don’t know when—Someone had woken up! Sooner or later they will discover that I’m missing!

“Agares… I have to go back!” 

I patted his wide back but he just turned a deaf ear and continued to lick my wound while holding me tightly, with no intentions of letting me go. He also intentionally used his fishtail to press down on my lower legs and his webbed hands massaged my ass even more wantonly and said, “No… I don’t allow you… to go back”. 20dMHy

 He raised his head and licked away the bloodstains on his lips and warily took a glance behind him. As though he was afraid I would be snatched away, he carried me to the back of the rock and turned over my body so that he was leaning against the dry rock leaving me with no other choice than to lean against his body. I tilted my head slightly, but his webbed hands pulled me closer to the side of his neck and said, “Look… Desharow…” 

I doubtfully examined him, but ended up gasping at what I saw. There was a wound on the bottom of his sharp, peculiar winged- shaped ear and it was clear that he had been scratched during the intense fight, just that it was hidden behind his hair, which made it difficult to notice.  

Is Agares requesting me to treat his wound? 

I immediately rummaged through my pockets and tried to find the roll of alcohol- soaked bandages, however he stopped my hand. A pair of serene eyes narrowed up at me, and his webbed hands gently stroked my lips, tracing over them, while meaningfully licked at his own lips, clearly implying I should use the same method to treat his wound as he had done for me.      5jnU9K

I was stunned stiff. Soon hot blood rushed from my ears to my head and felt both shame and embarrassment flood through me, however I was unable to refuse Agares’s request. Yes, because it was in courtesy of this life-saving “grace fish” who just healed my injury with a kiss. I had no other reasons to not repay him, even if my actions won’t have any actual effect.  

I couldn’t let myself be seen as an ungrateful human who doesn’t repay favours in the merman’s eyes. Yes, exactly! 

I said this in my heart and swallowed hard as I braced myself to lean down against his neck with my heart lodged in my throat. His skin was smooth and tight with strong neck muscles buried underneath. Agares slanted his eyes and watched me attentively, the corner of his eyes and the tip of his eyebrow was dyed with vague affections and the water droplets made the sharp contours of his handsome face appear softer. 

Heat rose on my cheeks furiously and I forced myself to not look at his face, I closed my eyes and tried to convince myself through self-deception, Damn it, just pretend you’re tasting a fresh slice of sashimi, Desharow!      EjNlh6

When my face met with a large mop of seaweed-like hair, an unusual sweet pheromone assaulted my sense. The scent surrounded me, it was like a dense cloud, which made me pant heavily. Without even licking a few times, I felt dizzy.

Being driven to my limits, I withdrew away from him a bit and took a deep breath. Using this opportunity, I tried to calm my heart that was racing like mad, but my head already felt a bit muddled. I shook my head before asking, “Hey, could you tell me something? Why does your body emit this kind of pheromone?”

“What?” I muttered. Only I could smell it? I raised my eyebrows in bewilderment and my vision became increasingly fuzzy. In my line of sight, the only thing I could see clearly was a narrow and clear set of eyes. But in a mere second, it was completely swallowed by the incoming  darkness. My lips couldn’t avoid the attack and was kissed heavily by Agares. His tongue wantonly explored every crevice of my mouth before it was like an unending raindrop, dripping down my neck, to my Adam’s apple then down to my collarbone….. YfXqZS

I involuntarily embraced his neck as if I was bewildered by him, making me unable to suppress my confused and frantic emotions. My breathing became more and more erratic and my hands and feet weakened, making me rest against the hard and wet chest under me. I suddenly felt the webbed hands on my back, tugging at the cloth around the waistband of my trousers and bluntly ripped a big hole.

On my bare back, he spread out his five fingers and erotically caressed it, and as though it wasn’t enough to satisfy him, he went down to explore around my tailbone. He also started to faintly shake his fishtail, creating friction with the slender object between my crotch.    

With his sensual touch, for a moment I felt like my mind had left and entered a swamp that was filled with lust and desire. The bones in my arm felt like it was falling apart but I still used it to prop my softening body up. “No…” 

The sound that I gave out did nothing but give Agares the desire for more. The lake was so clean and pure that I could see its bottom, however it also made me able to see my body under the water arranged into a shameful position, and in my peripheral vision, my eyes swept pass Agares’s lower section and saw his excited stance. Unable to take the embarrassment, I leaned back, wanting to sink myself into the water, hoping that I could drown, however I was stopped by Agares’s arm thus was unable to do so. 

His pupils stared straight at me dully, his throat rolled when he deeply swallowed, and his breathing held a stir of emotions.

 “Desharow… I cannot… wait…”

I leaned against the rock weakly and just when I was about to sink into the water, Agares pulled me back to his waist and once again. He lowered his head and pressed it against me. A webbed claw went down to explore and tore apart my waistband. It was only at that moment did I hear sudden repeated yells from the direction of the campsite, and within those voices, Lafarre’s was the most distinct.  “Look, Davis and Desharow might be at the lake. Look, there are shadows over there!” 

“Let’s go and see!” Eva responded immediately.  

A shudder struck my body and I pushed Agares away by a few centimeters, looking away from the campsite in fear like a thief. As expected, I saw a couple of shadows making their way nearer. In a state of panic, I wanted to escape to the riverbank. But then I was hugged from behind by Agares, his head lowered and heavily leaned on my shoulder. In a low voice, his voice shook my eardrums like thunder and said, “NO…You are my Desharow!”
