Translator's Note

One of the punishments associated with the traditional Chinese concept of Hell. It is typically depicted as a maze with various levels and chambers, to which souls are taken after death to atone for the sins they committed when they were alive. These sinners feel pain just like living humans when they are tortured, but they cannot ‘die’ from the torture since their original states are restored at the end of the ordeal for the torture to be repeated. One of these punishments was to be fried in a cauldron of boiling oil. It is said that this punishment is for rapists, thieves, abusers, and false accusers.

  1. Aww the date is so adorable. Also Fu Li, I want some pearls too!

I know it’s been insinuated that Zhuang Qing has a very tough life, but it’s still painful to read about his suffering. I’m glad he’s at a much better place now.

  2. Lately I’ve been a bit worried about ZQ’s future relationship with FL. After all rabbits are known to have such high sex drives, that and FL has such a high cultivation too… I feel like ZQ’s going to have a hard time keeping up, if he can…

    • omg… everyone is like: oooh so cuute, its a datee <33 then you come in and is like: … to much sex??? :oo

  3. Aww we got some insight into ZQ’s past though I knew it wasn’t good.

ZQ’s misery really makes me laugh so much but he did bring FL out to play!

    Thanks for the chapter

  4. Thanks for the chapter! 🐰 aww, festival date 😊

  5. me having the theory that ML tas the human “pet” Fu Li har: YES DRINK THAT F***ING SOUP

    ML: no, not important

me: ……………. okay then, so thats how it is…

  6. Zhuang Qing really faked the whole “bureau needs us to patrol the market” just so he could take Fu Li and dote on him and let him explore and even gave him spending money. Just admit it, you’re falling for him!

    the whale is so cute.

    thanks for the chapter <3

  7. So that lone ghost who had been a water army during his lifetime really cuts a sorry figure – it´s typical of Fu Li to give him some money. Kind of cute actually. Though I do think that the ghost´s reaction to this was rather adorable as well! And then, Zhuang Qing. He just did not want to tell him that this was a date or probably hasn´t even realized it himself! He´s such a dork istg. He even tried to explain to Fu Li that ‘the world is bad, please stop being this nice’ – it was obvious that it wouldn´t have any effect lmaoAnd seeing Fu Li in ancient garb again – hah, a dream come true not only for a certain dragon but also for me. I like this imagery :3 Of course Zhuang Qing had to pick black so as to make a nice contrast with Fu Li. That their ages look the exact opposite as they are is just the icing on this cake. I live for this xDThe ghost market … it seems to be full of scams – never expected anything different from a market lmao

I just hope that Fu Li will develop and not be so ‘openminded’ about something like this anymore? And then he paid with pearls? Oh, how ZQ´s heart must have hurt! And how balefully he stared the bowl – I had to stop reading to laugh a little 😂

Meng Po … this is somehow quite suspicious. Not just because of the soups or the price they would maybe have to pay. But also because of her behaviour. Why give Fu Li the soup of happiness, but ZQ one to remember his past life? Will it influence the later part of the story or was it really just a joke? I just … am I the only one finding this suspicious?

The soup stall … that whale spirit is a rather nice one, isn´t he? Giving a bloodied, immature dragon child that probably had no money this bowl of soup without even calling after him – this act of kindness… I admire him. And even sending the same soup out again. ZQ probably never thought that he´d be remembered, did he?

Also had a quick laugh at the ginseng spirit cutting off pieces of his beard!

And yes, I have been doing quite well recently, thank you! Hope you are as well!Thank you for the update :3

    • I love that ZQ takes educating FL so seriously heh, he really does mean well despite his cold exterior ^^

Thanks for the comment, glad you’re doing well!
