Translator's Note

These lines are from the Chinese poem , which originates from the Warring States Period. This poem was composed and recited by Jing Ke before his attempt to assassinate Qin Shihuang or the Emperor of Qin. The poem suggests Jing Ke believed he would not survive this mission, and indeed, he died while unsuccessfully trying to complete the assassination. I took a few liberties with the translation to fit it into the sentence, but there is an English translation of these lines in the original poem format, which went like this: EAqOrZ

Hsiao-hsiao soughs the wind, oh-
Cold the waters of the Yi.
The knight who leaves you now, oh-
You shall nevermore see.

Translator's Note

Couldn’t find a proper English term for this, so it was translated literally. The closest English terms would probably be astral projection or out-of-body experience.
