    • Everyone has a hole in their hearts when we are still in the womb, it is called the forum ovale and it connects the two atrium together until soon before/after birth where it closes up. (The more you know)

      However the little babe in the story has an abnormal hole in the ventricles, and depending on the size, may have minor to severe medical issues ranging from breathlessness and exhaustion to heart arrhythmia, endocarditis, and even heart failure later in life. Thankfuly it is treatable and if the hole is small it should close on its own (one reason why the doctors waited so long after the baby’s birth to tell MC) for holes that are larger and don’t close there is surgery and there are medications to ease/treat the symptoms.

      Do note that the disease is genetic and can be passed down, since this was caused by a premature birth I don’t think we have to worry- though if JR can get pregnant too is a mystery.
