Mythical Creature Series: Ah-JiangChapter 22

Edited by Yummers

Shi Tou returned to the village alone. He’d only left for a few months but dust had all collected over the old house. Good thing he was used to being alone. He spent a few days tidying up the place and then was able to return to living comfortably. xYZ0eC

He hadn’t returned for too long before both his aunt and uncle heard the news and showed up at his door.

They’d come with a request. His little uncle was fine but his aunt had an unwilling expression on. Apparently, after Shi Tou left, the restaurant’s business had gone down significantly. It was truly strange. Although they used the same cooking methods, the taste was somehow a bit off. Not even their frequent customers wanted to come back. The old couple had to let go of their pride and ask Shi Tou to come back to the restaurant. Not only did they raise his salary, Shi Tou’s little uncle even promised that if he agreed to go back, but all his monthly incomes would also be doubled.

But once his aunt heard those conditions, she wasn’t happy. She wasn’t aware of anything like that!  That jerk didn’t discuss it with her! His little uncle had been oppressed for too long previously, but with how bad their restaurant’s business had been in the last few months—their restaurant seemed to be on the verge of even shutting down— he retorted angrily, “Shut it for a moment! Ah Can is my biological nephew, don’t you remember what our dad said on his deathbed? And to say the least, we’re all family. The decision is set now!”

His aunt stumbled on her words. She was the type who only dared to pick on weak ones, usually being at an advantage with her loud voice. But in reality, she was a paper-made tiger. d Fuqi

Shi Tou watched as they went back and forth. He had clear memories of what happened in this life. Originally, he didn’t want to have anything else to do with these relatives of his, but in the end, he was still too sentimental. His little uncle did it out of sincerity too. Since he couldn’t find anything else to do in the meantime, he nodded in agreement.

He had no other choice. He had researched a bit and found out that the modern police system was completely different from how it was back when he was a constable in ancient times. They needed to go through training and written exams. Thus, he wasn’t able to return to his old career.

After negotiating with his little uncle, this time, Shi Tou didn’t forget to write a contract as proof either. He was really clever now. You couldn’t just judge him from his dumb-looking exterior anymore. Inside, he was quite a witty one too.

His uncle and aunt were a bit shocked. Prior to this, they’d already heard from the neighbors that Shi Tou had changed a lot. Now seeing him speaking properly and conducting himself this well…was he still the idiot Ah-Can from their family?

QGt4dI

His little uncle couldn’t help but ask, “Ah-Can, you…is your illness all good now?”

Illness? What illness did he have? Shi Tou blinked before quickly understanding. He slapped his thighs and started making things up. “I went to see a doctor in the city…so, yeah, it’s all good now!”

“That’s possible?!”

His little uncle showed joy through his brows. He was only a low-status laborer who didn’t receive much education, he knew that technology in the city was very advanced but he never thought it could cure an idiot. He couldn’t hold himself back from going over to give Shi Tou a hug. He looked at him left and right, and realized that Shi Tou had tidied himself up spotlessly with a charming and striking smile. Oh man, it was truly a great great blessing! p1bTes

His little uncle was so excited he couldn’t get any words out, he was even close to shedding some tears. Now he could face his deceased old man and elder brother with a settled heart.

Shi Tou rubbed his nose guiltily as he patted his uncle’s shoulder, comforting him.

Then his aunt’s voice suddenly rang out, spoiling the moment. “Aiyo, what crap is this?”

At some point, a platform had been added to the living room with something unknown placed on it. His aunt lifted up the white cloth to see what was hidden underneath and she almost screamed from the ominous aura. “Oh lord, where did the idiot get a dead person’s plaque from?!” QDRgyC

“What are you doing?!”

Shi Tou strode over quickly. That woman reacted so exaggeratedly, she even made Ah-Jiang’s plaque fall. Shi Tou hurried to adjust the plaque back to its original position, standing up. There were three sticks of incense lit in the incense burner. She watched him behaving super nervously, it seemed like he was even glaring at her. This made her back off a bit, she tugged at her husband. “What if Ah-Can he…was bewitched…?”

“Don’t say nonsense!” Shi Tou’s uncle sneered in return. He snapped away from the woman’s hold before going up to talk with Shi Tou. “Let’s go visit your dad and grandpa sometime later. Burn them some incense and tell them the good news, this time…we can finally let them rest peacefully.”

He veered outside cheerfully. Shi Tou could see that his little uncle was actually being kind to him so he gave him some pleasant words before sending both of them out. sQEYAn

In the end, Shi Tou returned to his original spot.

Shi Tou’s return this time made quite a ruckus. At first, everyone was still on the topic of his ambiguous relationship with that Deputy Director Jiang*. All thinking that the little idiot might’ve been abandoned by that man so he came back home to hide. Yet, before the freshness of that rumor had even died down, it was completely overridden by the news of Shi Tou becoming “smart”.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Speaking of it, it really was magical. No one knew what miracle medicine Shi Tou had taken, but he was entirely different now. In the past, anyone in the kitchen could easily step over his head. Now not only was Shi Tou a clever one, even his personality varied quite differently.

He used to be a pushover who allowed others to oppress him however they wanted. Although he still seemed like a hospitable person now, no one dared to bully him again. Just take the second cook as an example. That man bullied the little idiot the most before, he shoved all the hard labor work onto Shi Tou. Out of his expectations this time, Shi Tou refused. He recited the rules to him loud and clear, ending with provoking words. “If you’re so old that you can’t handle the work, fine. Pack up and go!” SimEod

The second cook was furious. Who did that idiot think he was? He only knew how to sell his ass!

Shi Tou didn’t want to continue arguing with him. Having received such criticism, the second cook wanted to go and push him over. Out of his expectation again, Shi Tou swiftly dodged him. It made him fall into the empty space in front of him, nearly facepalming onto the ground. Shi Tou moved nimbly as he snatched a rolling pin from the table. He snapped it in a specific direction then slipped it over his waist. The other screamed out loud as his entire body was straightened up again.

Just take a look at whose soul was in this body, the head constable from thousands of years ago. The main rival of all unmarried young men of the town, the man of every girl’s dreams. If he didn’t have some skills that could shut the other in Yamen up, how would he have become the head?

Shi Tou pointed at him with the rolling pin. He said, “From now on, smoking is prohibited in the kitchen. Also, keep your hat on. If your hair falls into the pot one more time, I will serve you with a scissor.” jF4ENK

“Also, don’t be late to work again. If you have urgent private matters, ask for a break at least two hours prior. Leaving early without a reason counts as skipping. Do you all understand?”

The few in the kitchen all nodded. “Yes…”

“Louder!”

“Yes──!” R2Xdpo

Shi Tou put away the rolling pin and waved his hands. “All of you go back to work.”

Then, many of the other incidents that arose were resolved by Shi Tou. Apparently, the second cook had so much resentment that he found someone in secret to give the idiot a lesson. To everyone’s surprise, Shi Tou had really become a dark horse. His martial skills resembled that of a Wu Lin master’s.

That wasn’t the only thing. Shi Tou also fought against unfair treatment. Whatever problems his neighbors had, he was very eager to help. For example, the lonely old grandma who lived at the end of the alley, Shi Tou’er would always make extra food every day to deliver it to her. When the old man in the village fell from his chronic illness, Shi Tou was also able to carry the old man on his back and run him to the hospital. The police officer had tears streaming down his face from his noble actions. He even contemplated if he should go and request the director to give Ah Can a, “Reincarnation of Lei Feng” pennant as a reward.

Shi Tou led a group of young adults to voluntarily plow snow on the roads. Those youngsters all used to make questionable decisions, but after a few days of being lectured by Shi Tou, the results made all the older adults and seniors passing by very touched. They gave them many compliments. They were young adults who easily felt bashful from the compliments. They didn’t think the labor work was too harsh. Plus, it was for road safety, volunteering for the community was good to them.

As for the restaurant, ever since Shi Tou’s return, its business gradually brightened up. Plus, Shi Tou had even more skills than before. He could do a lot more tricks now. One time when another place’s boss came and tried their menu, he was so stunned that he pulled Shi Tou aside to stuff his business card to him. He wanted to hire him to be the head of a high-quality restaurant in the city, his salary there would be nearly exceeding five-digit numbers. DP1XKc

Shi Tou refused. It was fine if he had enough money, what’s the use of extra? Plus, his uncle seemed to feel very guilty towards him. His tone towards him evolved to be sweeter and sweeter over time. Shi Tou wasn’t cold-hearted either, after all, they were his blood relatives in this life. So that could be called fate too, he couldn’t allow himself to forget his origins.

His daily life slowly became more steady and calm, not too underwhelming or overwhelming. Sometimes, Shi Tou would go to the river. Looking across, the only thing that had remained unchanged was the river.

His days weren’t very lonely either, he still had Ah-Jiang’s plaque at home accompanying him. He would talk to the wooden plaque to get rid of his boredom. But the painting was covered by the white cloth and hidden in his storage. He hadn’t taken it out to look at it for a long time.

He didn’t dare to look at it. He was afraid that if he looked, he would think about it. If he thought too much about it, his heart will hurt. xV2T4H

But in the end, should he blame Ah-Jiang? Shi Tou asked himself, was he supposed to resent Ah-Jiang? He wasn’t the Little Rock that Ah-Jiang thought of him as. Plus, this Ah-Jiang…wasn’t the same malicious ghost from thousands of years ago who spoke and walked lightly, and would go to the kitchen to uncover the pots looking for food every day.

Ah-Jiang accompanied him for ten lifetimes. He helped him gather back all his souls. That was enough to return his wrongdoings. Remembering back to the sorrowful events in the past nine lives, he shouldn’t drag him back again, Ah-Jiang deserved to have his own life this time.

Their fate had probably come to an end in this life.

Shi Tou stood up from the chair and walked up to the plaque, lighting three incense sticks and bowed. wrkdZE

A while ago, he found someone to paint it again and rewrite the name. With the thin incense smoke flowing, Shi Tou looked up. The three characters, Jiang Yanyun, made him space out a little from staring.

But at that time, someone tapped on his door softly.

One knock at a time, soft and slow.

Shi Tou immediately wiped his eyes before shouting, “Coming!” itNXIx

Cold wind surged in once the door was pulled open. Shi Tou’s vision swayed a little, he thought he saw a blob of white. He couldn’t help but call out, “Ah-Jiang.”

Lights quickly shone in that direction, the snow-white color gradually turned to black. The other’s cold eyes were crystal clear on the snowy day with his tall figure, unchanged for thousands of years. He really was Ah-Jiang.

Deputy Director Jiang* stood at the front of Shi Tou’s house. No one knew how long he had been standing there, but thin layers of snow resided on his shoulders and white dots covered his hair, just like the tone of his face.

He didn’t say anything. After many months of not seeing each other, his face seemed to have gotten sharper. Weirdly, this unhealthy look of his made him look even more similar to that “Ah-Jiang”. Wuzyd2

Although he was glad to stay as an ice statue out there, Shi Tou couldn’t take it. How could he allow him to freeze up like that without feeling hurt? He waved his hand and said, “Don’t stay in the cold like that. Come in, come in.”

Shi Tou poured a cup of hot tea for him, he had him warm up his hands with it first, then hurried over to turn the heater up to the highest.

Ah-Jiang’s expression seemed to be in a trance, he looked around the house before his clear, cold eyes fell back onto the young male. Shi Tou busied himself all the way till he had nothing else to do. He had to sit down, but he turned his body in a way that he would not have to face Ah-Jiang.

After a long silence, Ah-Jiang was the first to speak in the end. 3GxiQ9

“Have you been well?”

It really was weird. That voice was the exact same as Ah-Jiang’s. For thousands of years, it never changed. Even though it had only been a few months since he heard it, it felt like it had been hundreds of years.

Shi Tou smiled and answered, “I’ve been alright.”

Ah-Jiang nodded, seeming a little absentminded. 1FXVeu

Shi Tou was able to smile sincerely in the beginning still, but Ah-Jiang was too quiet. He felt the corners of his lips weighing down more and more, he almost couldn’t keep the smile on.

The awkward silence dragged out for a while before Shi Tou finally thought of a topic. He rubbed his nose and asked, “Why did you come? How long are you…planning to stay for?” He didn’t look at Ah-Jiang when speaking. He forcefully suppressed his feelings so that Ah-Jiang couldn’t hear the excitement in his voice.

Fortunately, Ah-Jiang didn’t give him any extra hope. He said indifferently, “I came to finish up the final part of the construction, I’ll be leaving tomorrow.”

Shi Tou was taken aback, though he quickly nodded. He let out a sound that seemed like sighing, “So that’s it…” rgBusX

Then he didn’t wait for Ah-Jiang to say anything before he continued himself. “Have you eaten yet? I just happened to finish a pot of pig trotters that’s been braising for the whole day. Would you like some…before leaving?”

Shi Tou asked very softly, as if he was trying to please the other.

Ah-Jiang turned to look at him, a long while passed until he gently nodded.

Soon, a bowl of braised pig trotters and a few plates of freshly made side dishes were placed on the table. Ah-Jiang was still the same old picky eater, immediately going after the bowl of pig trotters from the beginning. Shi Tou asked with a smile, “Is that enough? If not, there’s more left in the pot.” y38rkc

It’d been months since Ah-Jiang had these. His greediness for food didn’t change even after a thousand years. He knew it, he had been a gluttonous ghost for all his previous lives too.

Shi Tou watched him devour two big bowls and then packed up the rest from the pot so he could bring it back to the city with him. With how far away they were from each other, it’ll be hard for him to get a taste of it again in the future.

Prior to Ah-Jiang’s departure, he finally noticed the offering place in the corner of the living room. He stopped in front of it, staring at the plaque without moving an inch.

“Who is Jiang Yanyun?” When he asked that, his tone was very calm, as if he was asking about the weather. xbC0VD

Shi Tou gave him a wide smile and said without any shame, “Ah yes yes, this is my significant other.”

Ah-Jiang stilled with a rather complicated complexion. Shi Tou’s head weighted down, he rubbed his nose and chuckled muffledly. “I…was just kidding.”

Right. If such rumors spread around, people will definitely think something was wrong with his head. Perhaps even Ah-Jiang thought he was a bit weird. He didn’t even want to stay for a few more exchanges of words as he left.

Shi Tou stood at his doorstep to send him away. He watched Ah-Jiang’s figure disappear into the whiteness. He only returned back into his house when he couldn’t see him anymore. Vydgz1

Ah-Jiang certainly left in a hurry, it was almost as if he was fleeing pathetically.

When Little Rock left a few months ago, Ah-Jiang only realized it when he’d been gone for two days.

Read more BL at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

When he returned home and looked around, he realized for the first time how empty and big his house was. There was no sign of smoke and oil left in the kitchen, the fridge was completely empty as well. He turned to look into the bedroom, all the new clothes he’d bought for Shi Tou were there. All neatly folded and put into a corner, as if it was there for him to throw away conveniently at any time.

Ah-Jiang sat in his house the entire day, from dusk till dawn. From beginning to end, never once did he hear the door being opened. PkKfnM

Shi Tou left, Ah-Jiang thought in a trance. That outcome seemed so unexpected yet so predictable…right, when he had too much to drink from some time ago, a thought like that had flashed by his mind. The Little Rock that he loved had vanished, what did he need a counterfeit for?

He thought in disappointment, was his feelings towards Little Rock that fragile? That breakable?

But he wasn’t reconciled to accept him. He loved him for such a long time, what kind of ending was this? Twelve years, or even a hundred, or a thousand years, did he love the dumb Little Rock or the person and soul itself?

Ah-Jiang was lost. He’d spent a bunch of energy struggling blindly. Yet what a coincidence, a new young master suddenly came to their office. No matter if it was a mere coincidence or planned event, the young male who tried to close their distance looked so similar to Little Rock. He was also a bit clumsy and dumb, the little actions of his always reminded him of the past Little Rock. Jc3 1K

Say, if the one he loved was simply the pure and silly young male, then why couldn’t he be interested in other people?

Ah-Jiang tested himself, but eventually came to see how ridiculous this whole thing was. How could a replacement be added so simply just like that? The longer he faced the young male, the more he felt empty and reluctant to face his Little Rock. Gradually, he didn’t even have the courage to look at his eyes anymore.

All the way till Shi Tou left, Ah-Jiang fed himself deceiving thoughts. Maybe, breaking off like that, was also just fate.

Once that thought was processed, he felt as if a hole had been pummeled in his heart. 0RBsiq

But he didn’t know who he was trying to keep his pride up for. He thought, if it ached, then let it ache, it’ll be fine after some time.

Little Rock was already gone. There was no landing point for his love anymore, could he still chase it back?

But his days didn’t get any better. Deputy Director Jiang* became a walking corpse. His work increased day by day, although it seemed like he was close to raising at his workplace again, his alcohol addiction worsened. In the end, he was diagnosed with acute gastritis from alcohol abuse.

Deputy Director Jiang* laid in the hospital for two days. Endless amounts of people came to visit him, but every time he opened his eyes, it was never the one he wanted to see. When he was discharged, a bunch of people came to help. Once he returned and closed his door, he fell into a trance in the silence. He seemed to be seeing the figure standing by the kitchen counter again. Just not long ago, he would see him waiting for him every time he came home. sjdyYA

No matter how late his return was, the other would wait. Every time he would ask if he wanted to have a late-night snack. In the morning, he would make soybean milk for him. He even spoke sternly about how he researched that the internet said drinking too much coffee would shorten your life, so he prohibited him from drinking it again in the future. He finally learned how to text on a phone, his fingers would stumble as he typed on that little piece of technology. Just a few words could take him up to one to two hours, but he would still message him everyday…

With just one glance, the other would know what he was thinking.

That person liked to smile as well. Deep dimples appeared on his face and in his eyes, only he stood.

But was he still Little Rock? Was this question even important? 1X2RlE

Ah-Jiang thought back to the morning that Shi Tou left. He even thought about what would have happened if he managed to make the other stay at that time…

He laid on the bed with no one to accompany his side anymore. The scent of Shi Tou faded away gradually, just like the night after he’d left, he had insomnia again. So he started thinking absurd thoughts. He searched for any little clues in his memories. But their time spent together in the past was too little. Deputy Director Jiang* finally found a reason for himself to send people out to investigate where he was.

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Shi Tou was found very easily as he returned to his birthplace after leaving the city.

With the data he received each day, Ah-Jiang finally had a good perception of that person. He was such a stranger yet so familiar to him. cbndoU

So Shi Tou bore that much strength. He could manage a wide variety of things, he could even help if someone was trying to thrash their restaurant. The more Ah-Jiang watched, the more clear the image in his head became. Those things help lessen the gloom that Deputy Director Jiang* had been stored in the recent time. During some moments, Deputy Director Jiang* would laugh out loud without a reason when facing those reports.

All the way until a certain day from months ago, a picture was included in the reports. There had been pictures included in previous reports but he always stopped himself from opening them, he didn’t know what he was concerned with either.

This time, the picture wasn’t in a file, but stuck onto the document. Ah-Jiang couldn’t avoid it.

The Shi Tou who appeared in the picture wore a black mandarin jacket, around his waist was a great saber the filming crew gave him. He was posing and seemed even more professional as a temporal actor than the actual actors. Ah-Jiang seemed like he was electrocuted, he reached out his hands shakily. He touched the cold screen gently. X3Qksb

When he finally realized, he already came to the village again.

Before the snow fell, Deputy Director Jiang* was already there, but he did not go find Shi Tou right away.

He was like an ignoble thief, observing a gem in secret. Hesitant and uncertain, clearly, if he just worked a little harder, he could obtain the prize easily.

Before, he always observed Shi Tou through other people’s eyes. Now that he was seeing it all for himself, he felt an unusual feeling. The longer he observed, the more the sense of disharmony from the beginning faded away. Moreover, a delusional thought bloomed in him, he felt like this was the person who Little Rock was supposed to be like… QnswD6

He also saw how stable and fulfilling Little Rock’s life was. Even without him, he seemed to be living a good life. From the looks of it, he seemed to have already let go of the past.

Thin snow fell and the river water froze. Ah-Jiang didn’t know why, although he ordered a plane ticket for the next day, he was bewitched as he went and knocked on that door.

He originally didn’t want to see him, he originally wanted to leave discreetly. At that moment, he prayed that the door would never open.

Then, he saw the young male who was short by half of a head in comparison. He was covered up in a thick layer of blankets with his nose bright red from the cold. His eyes never blinked as he called out softly, “Ah-Jiang.” bRGYw5

In that instance, Ah-Jiang’s thought process immediately stopped in its tracks.

When he heard that “Ah-Jiang”, his sunken heart seemed to have come back to life…why was that?

Why? He was pretending to be stupid again. He held onto the cup. Suddenly, he started to deceive himself again. He told himself, he needed to wait a little longer.

What else was he waiting for? He wasn’t clear of it himself either. In the end, it must’ve been the memories in his brain causing this. Yet, their interactions felt so familiar. Every move of the young male aligned with a certain corner deep down in his memories with no discord at all. CawzOo

The smile on that face was nearly making his heart ache.

Maybe, the answer has been out since long ago. But before Ah-Jiang could make a firm decision, he saw the offering place. On it was a plaque. Ah-Jiang was certain that this thing was not in Little Rock’s house before.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Once he saw the three words—Jiang Yanyun—it was as if a heavy hammer had crashed onto Ah-Jiang’s heart.

He panicked. He could not remember what he’d asked Shi Tou at all before, he tried to think as buzzes surrounded his ears. He almost couldn’t stand upright so he left in a hurry. hYce8m

Ah-Jiang couldn’t even endure it until he returned to his family compound. He sat in the car with his head burning from insufferable pain.

“Please take this wine as Shi Tou’s respect towards you, I pray for Jiejie to help me marry a good wife and I will cherish her with all my heart, devote myself to love, and protect her. I’ll let her live in peace and happiness for the rest of her life!”

A man kneeled beside the river. He gave the river three kowtows. A crisp sound rang from the, almost as if they could echo throughout the entire world.

Before he could get a good look to see who it was, another scene squeezed in. It was of a man carrying a bunch of little dolls. He bowed in front of a small temple, the man laughed dumbly as he taught them. JyD iY

“Alright, be good and say ‘thank you, auntie.’”

He’d dreamt of that scene before, but right now, it was clearer than any other time. It was like he had been completely immersed in the dreamland and all the events weren’t just a dream. He was clearly awake. The messy scene and reality intercrossed, causing his head to split from the pain.

The driver sped up more and more as the secretary on the side continued to speak, “Deputy Director, please hang in there. I’ve already contacted a doctor, we’ll be there very soon!”

The man raised his head abruptly out of nowhere. In an instant, he saw a scene he’d never witnessed before. It was one of the world collapsing, the sky split and the ground broke. Dark clouds covered the sky as thunder rained down, tens of thousands of ghosts howled together! t198Sh

It was as if he’d fallen into the unmeasurable abyss of the 18 layers of hell. The fire below burnt him, it was the disastrous diabolic flame of an Asura’s rising.

Blue veins popped up on the man’s face, he had an extremely painful expression on. When the driver heard the continuous screaming from the backseat, his hands on the steering wheel trembled slightly. He tossed away the thought that they were driving on a slippery road in winter and stepped on the gas pedal harshly!

The suffering ended after the hell of Asura. Then, lengths of golden light gradually rose into his view. He opened his eyes, only to see himself—

Was that him? dlV6P5

A Jade Faced Asura held a golden pill in its hands, his vibrant red lips curved into a slight smile quietly as his palm smoothed past the golden pill gently. The golden pill shone, it was quite spiritual and also seemed to like the other’s affection.

The Asura’s figure slowly faded away, then turned into a dark jade bead. Its tone was both deep and pure, shining off its sharp light. Softly, it floated upwards. It flew up to him and gradually, dug into his heart…

Suddenly, a voice rang from the sky.

“──Jiang Yanyun, you’ve guarded the blessed star throughout the whole journey of the collection of his soul fragments. Surely it is time for you to step away now.” jvWnFT

Once the mellow voice stopped, all of Ah-Jiang’s senses returned abruptly.

At the same time, an ear-piercing whistle rang.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

He raised his head again, but saw merely white lights once again.

  1. “Shi Tou watched him devour two big bowls and then packed up the rest from the pot so he could bring it back to the city with him.” Yikes, isn’t this the same exact scenario as the time AJ left him to go to the city during the night at the hotel last time??
  2. Also, when AJ questioned who “Jiang Yanyun” was…if his full name this life wasn’t Jiang Yanyun, then what was it? It couldn’t have just been Ah-Jiang…right?
  3. Okay another comment, I really wanted to find out who was the guy that ST saw AJ with in the last chapter. What was their relationship? But then he literally gets mentioned for one line in this chapter and never shows up again asldkfjaslkfj I’ll give AJ the benefit of the doubt that he actually didn’t do anything that can be considered cheating (the author probs would’ve written more on it if he did tbh)

  7. yes! we hate cheating husband!! (throw pebbles)

    hope he’s not. seriously.

i kinda get it why he can’t accept shi tou immediately after he became smarter. he doesn’t have a full recollection of who he really was, after all. but still… that doubt, oh my god! it’s irritating me. almost makes me think that his love for shi tou is not that deep. i mean, even shi tou as the golden pill without memories could still know who he loves dearly.

and yep. there’s not much details in this book. probably because the number of the total chapters.
